Only drafted rookies are listed.
Same thing I am wondering. I don't think he will ever be the same after all that wear and tear the last couple of years. Also what do Lynch, Gore and Barber have that Brown doesn't? Brown should be rated higher, unless they are factoring in durability.
All of them have had more succesful seasons than Brown. I give you that that is because brown breaks down. But It is not a good thing to be a workhorse that breaks down.
Barber hasn't had a more successful season than Brown. Brown has had a 1000 yard season despite missing two games. Ronnie played seven games last year and had 602 yards while Barber had 975 in all 16 games and a better o line.
If this is supposed to be for fantasy leagues then I can see him ranked high just because most people expect him to bail out Rogers most of this year. Justin Fargas is another head-scratcher with Oak drafting McFadden. Portis is quite possibly one step away from Shaun Alexander too IMO.
by the above comments it's not Fantasy at first i was thinking the same thing SLICK101 but the writer is looking at the upcoming season only....
Well, only two runners had a better ypc and one matched him. That's not to shabby given the circumstances. Adrian Peterson- MIN 5.6 Fred Taylor- JAC 5.4 Ryan Grant- GB 5.1 Ronnie Brown 5.1
lol michael turner above ronnie......thats a F'in joke.....the guy has been a lifetime backup and edgirin james.....seriously?
Fact of the matter is, he didn't finish the season, and hasn't. I'm the biggest Brown supporter but I have to admit, he needs to finish out a full season or close to it! He had good seasons with 14 games, fine. He had an excellent start last year but didn't finish. Put the two together and everyone will know what type of player he is.
Brown is a little to low, but yeah, the guy needs to finish a season and hit a good rush mark (1400ish) before we give him a top back status. Hes got the potential, I loved seeing what he was doing last year after being lukewarm the first seasons. If he can come back and do that for a full season? ouch. Other than that, Fred Taylor is to low, the guy is amazing and has been for years, and will MJD there to split carries hes always fresh. Edge James is done and will be playing a Shaun Alexander role next season (why the passed on Mendenhall is beyond me).
I thought they would end up with Stewart but Carolina squashed that. They had a need at corner and got a possible very good one in DRC. Rolle was moved to safety this off season. I think they expect one more good year out of Edge and than he will start breaking down. I wouldn't be shocked if they try to trade up in next years draft to select Chris Wells. They could use Anquan Boldin as bait assuming he becomes a growing problem.
Just a little homerism going on in this thread? Ronnie needs to prove he can replicate last season over a full 16 games, then he'll have a much higher ranking, not until then.
That is true but there are some guys who are higher on that list who shouldn't be (i.e. Barber). Like I stated in an earlier post in this thread, Barber had 900+ yards in 16 games where Ronnie had 607 in 7 games. The year Ronnie played 12 games, he had 1000+ yards which still equals to higher productivity. Yet, you have to factor in Offensive line play. The Cowboys line is superior to ours, yet Ronnie managed to have a better season than Barber in two less games.
That's B.S. There are a handful of guys above Brown that have proven absolutely nothing as a full time starter. I'll highlight the ones that should be listed below Ronnie. I find it to be completely disrespectful to rank Ronnie just above Justin Fargas. What a joke!
I agree Gish. The only one I do disagree with is McGahee. I feel like he is underrated. He is a successful back in this league after overcoming a horrifying freak injury. I think hes the only one that should be considered ahead of Ronnie of the ones in bold. EDIT: You could throw JLew ahead of Ronnie.
I'm sure if McGahee was from Ohio State, I would think the same thing. But he isnt as good as Ronnie. Have you ever considered centering your sig? Don't underestimate the use of balanced white space.
Oh, I am not being biased on McGahee. If he was from FSU, I would have given him the same credit. I feel that he is a very good player that is underrated. No but will do. Thanks bro. .
