At first, I thought "Some people have entirely TOO much time on their hands", but then I thought, "Good for him....Prove those scientists, that have gone to school most of their lives, wrong."

Whats interesting is that they werent off by a factor of 2...or even 10.......a factor of 100?

In the Mechanical Engineering world, being off by a factor of 10 is an EXTREME mis-calculation

Since the calculation was off that much we can expect a corresponding increase in the doomsayers who are expecting the world to end.:wink2:

All we need now is to have another bright mind to say that this calculation was off too and that the real chances are 4.5 to 1 and watch the resulting panic on the streets

No that would be directly after Roger Goodell steps up to the Podium and announces:

"With the first pick in the 2008 draft, The Miami Dolphins choose.....Matt Ryan- QB Boston College

Would have to be more to it than that. Too many variables involved than just path. What if the asteriod hit another asteriod on its way, or can we get Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck to drill a hole and blow it up at its core? Stuff like that.

Well knowing what little I know about probability the more variables the harder it is to calculate and seeing as how it is a young kid who corrected nasa...................
