  1. Now your just making excuses. Your are failing to live up to the standard you set for being a good fan.

I pretty much did the same thing you did. Haven't been to a game since 2010 and don't plan on returning anytime soon. I'm not sold on Philbin or Tannehill and I'm not giving Stephen Ross any of my money.

No, my standard is that if you live in the area and you're a fan of the team, you should do your part. That means showing up and making the experience for the visiting team as difficult as possible without stooping to NE/NY levels.

I'm still a Dolphins fan, but I'm really losing interest in the league with all these new rules over the past couple years. This is not the thread to get into those, but I used to have 7 tv's going on Sundays, the past two years, just one. I need to really think about this upcoming season....

The thing that sucks about golf is that the ladies on the LPGA tour hit the ball further than me.....lol

  6. I am not asking you about your standard for a locale fan. I am asking you your standard for an out of area fan. You have been real clear about two things so far.

    1. What you expect local fans to do

    2. You have a different standard for yourself

I am asking what standard you live up to that we should consider you a good fan. You expect local fans to sacrafice hours of their time before and after the game getting in and out of the stadium and you expect them to make a rather significant finacial commitment so that when you sitting at home or in bar watching them on TV you see a full stadium cheering for the team you are a fan of. What responsibility do you have to live up to to be considered a good fan. Do you do anything beyond griping about others for your superfan status?

I don't get to play that much, I'm actually going thru a swing change right now. Its a 6 month program, so I'm practicing a lot .

Great point here and a reason that can factor into attendance drops.

I'll go further than rule changes though.
I agree on that but for me and others I know it's the greed that is souring us the most.

I have a hard time all out supporting athletes stating they can't play for $5 Million a year and that they need $6Million "because they have a family to feed" or owners and TV execs demanding increased revenue while the avg. family that would love to be fans have to decide whether to spend their entire entertainment budget for their family for an entire month just to attend one game!

It really is out of control and it's a legitimate factor in the issue of falling attendance.
