At least 5 people on Twitter have asked Adam Shefter if there's anything to this. He has not responded.
If he does, I expect him to say there is nothing to the Bowe to Miami rumors.

Make this happen.
you beat me to it. He is unreal. He is a guaranteed young stud WR that has proven he is a number one on a very bad team. What can we possibly lose. Do we have some holes to fill in the draft? Yes, the main one being a wide reciever. We would be spending a 2nd rounder on a sure thing, instead of taking a chance on one.

sig courtesy to peastri!
How do you think these trades go between us and KC?
Ring Ring!!!! "Hello, Scot Piolis office"
"yes, this is the Tuna calling for Scott"
"yes mr tuna, how can I help you"
"tell mr Pioli that i want Dwayne Bowe for 2 crappy picks, and he can continue to stay wed to my daughter"
but i heard bowe drops alot of passes as well.. dunno if i like this trade. Not to mention we drafted two young receivers last year.
Let's look at it this way. If we had to give up - say - our 2nd rounder for Bowe, what are the chances we'd have used that pick next year for a player that is as good or better than Bowe?
50-50 at best, especially at that specific position. I like Tuna, Inc.'s style with saving draft picks, etc., building the team the way they have, but this is one of those opportunities I'd like to see happen. Sometimes, you need to be adaptive to succeed, and this is one of those times IMHO.

Although I can understand where some of you are coming from with saving the draft picks we would trade for Bowe and build through the draft, i agree with RBrown23 on this one.
One of the positions we do need is a #1 WR. If we could get Bowe, not only would we be gaining a young #1 WR, but he has already gone through the first couple years of transition to the NFL. There is really no risk with getting Bowe as opposed to drafting a first or 2nd round WR.
With our remaining picks we can pick up some LB's, Safety, and maybe a TE. Just my thoughts.
Thanks for the sig, Gish!

2 picks(and their potential) are >>>>>>> Bowe.
If they pull the trigger on this, they are grasping at straws.
I don't really understand how you could think this way.
How are, for example, a 2nd and 4th round picks potential greater than Bowe (a 1st rounder who has exceeded his #23? overrall pick status).
Bowe is a better receiver than anything we've had since OJ McDuffie and even that's debatable. And OJ was drafted #25 overall. So, in actuality, he'd be the best receiver the Miami Dolphins have had since Mark Clayton.
2nd round picks like Anquan Boldin and Terrell Owens don't fall off of trees. It's a huge gamble and the chances of those 2 picks combined not turning out as good as Bowe are much greater.
IMPOSSIBLE...It's not going to happen because the Redskins want a second round pick ...and everyone knows we use that on a QB every year

Lets just say hypothetically that Bowe comes to miami and becomes a great #1 for the next 8-10 years (which really isn't a stretch save injuries) you guys against this trade are going to really sit here and say you would still disagree with it?
I am willing to bet every single Dolphin fan will go nuts the moment this kid steps on the field with a Dolphins jersey on.
Yes the Dolphins are a run team, but how much more does a good passing game help a great running game? Balance is key.
Thanks for the sig, Gish!

They want their 2nd round pick that we stole from last year back I guess...

I totally agree with this, and that's probably the only reason I would be comfortable with this trade. We burned 2 picks last year, and while we don't know if they're going to break out, we do know that they haven't shown signs of it yet (although they have shown signs of being good solid players). To trade two picks that we probably would have burned on WRs, and maybe gotten someone good, to definitely get someone good, is worth it in my opinion.
I'm going to be happy either way this goes I think. Part of me says it's crazy to pick up someone mid-year when you're trying to make a Playoff run (Which we clearly still feel we're in the races for). But the other, crazy, drunken side of me says lets do it and maybe we can have a full package ground and air offense that scares the pants off of the league's defenses.
Oh well, we'll find out by tomorrow I suppose! I don't think there is a "wrong" move in this one, unless Bowe is not as good as he's being touted to be. But if he's playing like he has under the Chiefs, I could see him being the guy.

It would not be grasping at straws. The Boston trade a few years back was grasping at straws.
It's not like Bowe has never produced, and we think he will turn it around here.
He has produced since his rookie season, and has been consistently impressive on a bad team.

We are REBUILDING from the bottom up(if you haven't noticed).
We are NOT on the cusp of greatness either,so why go get Bowe,or any WR at this moment? Henne started one, count it ONE game.Do you think Bowe is the missing link to a superbowl title this year? Do you really think we are that good? Stop drinking the koolaid
Can you tell me for sure what those draft picks might bring us in the future?
We have a plan to get to the SB ,and it's NOT giving away future draft picks.
As fo Anquan,we had our chance and the dummies didn't draft him. With T.O, he did fall out of a tree and if Parcells wanted him,he would have gotten him after last season.
That's the way i see it............
Man if you thought Ted Ginn's drops were bad....
To be honest I would like to keep our draft picks but if Bowe can be that number 1 receiver then would it be that steep?

Henne has started two games for the record.
Also, Bowe isn't in the last year of his contract, so he doesn't have to be the missing piece to a super bowl this year.

If a team is giving away a great young stud WR in a fire sale, someone has to take the opportunity. It doesn't mean we are doing this because we are planning on a Superbowl run this year.
This is a great chance to improve the team for years.

I can see where you're coming from 54, but I don't think getting Bowe would be any sort of statement from the front office saying we are superbowl bound this year.
The way I look at it, is its getting a proven WR who just turned 25? As opposed to risking a pick in the 1st or 2nd round for a WR that is unproven. Sure there is a chance that, that 1st or 2nd round WR pick next draft could turn out to be Jerry Rice, but its just a matter of probability in my opinion.
I think most people won't argue the fact we need a #1 receiver, why not get what is practically a guarantee #1?
Thanks for the sig, Gish!
I'm guessing we would be giving up a player as well. I'm thinking the Chiefs would want Bess.

Anyone but Bess...he is a great slot receiver, wouldn't want to see him leave.
