Some of you gear heads probably already know about this. I thought I would give it a try in my wife's 2001 Ford Expedition with 82,000 miles on it. I will let you know what I think. It is not cheap at 7.29 a qt. There a lot of benefits to using it. My dad sent me some info on them, as he is an ex-drag racer, and stays up on the latest on cars. So I thought I would pass this along.

    Royal Purple Consumer Products

    • Increased horsepower and torque
    • Reduced wear
    • Improved fuel economy
    • Reduced heat
    • Reduced emissions
I used to use Mobil 1 Synthetic oil. It is like a 1.50 a qt cheaper. You can go longer with the Royal Purple as well. Just have to drop the oil, and change the oil filter, and put the oil back in if you like. I go with the K&N oil filter as well.

Bro I used to think Mobil 1 was the stuff. My dad told me that Royal Purple challenged Mobil 1 in a dyno test. The only thing is Mobil 1 had to go first, because they didn't want to coat the engine first with there oil. Mobil 1 declined to do the test.

How often do you change the oil Brother John?

I know it is REDICULOUS to try to get rid of oil you have changed yourself here in the Desert. Used to be Pep-boys would help, but they are now declining to do so.

My dad was saying if you change the oil filter and put the oil back in, that they say you could go up to 12,000 miles between changes. I have to run 5-20 in my wifes car so I won't go that long.

Try Kragen's or Auto Zone. I really don't go to Pep Boy's anymore.

Dont have Kragen's here, Auto Zone is right down the street, and they have never accepted Oil (this particular one that is).

I think it is a regional thing and the water-shed here is really bad (SHouldnt matter but I think it does).

I will look into this more. Thanks for the insight brother. Hope all is good with you :ffic:

I've used Mobil 1 since it came out many years ago, but since they made it only part synth I went to Pennzoil Platinum all-synthetic.

I'll check this out, though; especially if there's savings to be had!

If anyone is interested, if you shop on the internet you can find it cheaper, and some places offer free shipping as well.

I don't know bro...I've been getting mine at local auto parts stores for WAY cheaper than I see online. I get a case for like $80.

Auto Zone Joe. They have a card program. When you visit 5 times and spend 20.00, you get a 20.00 credit.

LOL...bro, for 4 bucks I'd rather just go to the store and get it. :tongue2:

That's not bad for an online price though.

Well I put this in my wife's expedition as I said, and the gas mileage seems to be a lot better. I have put this in my little puddle jumper yesterday.:wink2:
