Rough start

You could say the same about pass blocking. Clady gave up 0.5 last season, Jake long 2.5 sacks. The reason I don't think Clady is better though, is because of the scheme. If he were to play in Longs place, he wouldn't have much succes, IMO.

Btw, Jake Long shut down great pass rushers last year, as well.

 

I disagree. Jake Long was amazingm last season. 2.5 sacks given up, and a beast in the run game. That is a Franchise LT.

 

It's gonna be a shock to watch him eventually moved to RT then

And after 1, JUST 1, game all I hear is his faults. None of the good he's done for the team.
I think all the first game cut downs are silly. Not saying no one should have their opinions, just that it's just to early and really not a fair assessment of the team. IMO

 

We're all just very passionate Deb (and very opinionated, just in case you couldn't tell).

Penny is still our best chance to win consistently IMO. But, he and Big Jake need to ratchet up their level of play. And, I mean big and quick.

He's not going to be moved. He's staying where he belongs, at Left Tackle.

 

I hope you're right......but just wanting it doesn't make it so. If he doesn't start playing up to that contract he signed, RT is exactly where he's headed.

 

I understand your feelings and loyalty towards him but the reality of the situation is that he limits this team.

There have been Coaches (Shula) and players (Marino, Zach and etc.) that spent many more years here and gave more of themselves to us......if we can show them the door, I don't see why we can't hold the door open for Pennington too if it's in the interest of this team.

Nah, I don't want to smack you.
But, as I watched the game, my biggest thing was. That even to me, Jake Long looked slow and off the mark a lot. I don't know who he was guarding, but it just looked to me like he wasn't getting the job done. to tell the truth, I was disappointed in seeing him play.
I don't know a lot about the "exacts" of positions and plays, but to me, he really looked sluggish. I do know that a lot of the time, Chad wasn't protected very well and it concerned me. I was really afraid of an injury.
That's just my opinion of what I saw and/or observed from where I was sitting.

 

BY the way does Sid respond in these threads he creates? He just stirred the pot and vanished. Left us hanging
