i'm not going to fault this regime for where we are with the OL all that much ... 1- where are Smiley, Grove and Thomas now .... are they on another team - did they see the field at all this past year ??? 2- have to assume they projected Garner to step in and fill one void, and they signed Incognito and drafted Jerry to compete the glut of Gs they brought in ... 3- with Long, Carey and Berger ..... it was reasonable to assume that some combination of the above would have been more durable and consistent than the missed games of 09. of course, what happened couldn't be planned for .... Garner injured and out, Jerry not ready to contribute, Carey injured, Berger being average and Long being injured but proving what a stud he really is. hard lesson and doubtful we'll be in the same position later this year between FA and the draft. #1, resign Incognito ... then figure out whether he plays G or C for you - but Berger needs to stay on as depth .... #2, sign Mankins or Hicks to shore up 1 of the G positions .... #3, IF you can find a trading partner for Carey (a nice 2d, or if someone is crazy enough for a 1st) .... #4, make an assessment of Garner (injury recovery) and Jerry .... and maybe draft Pouncey #5, make an assessment of Murtha (maybe even Garner) and draft a T either early to start if you trade Vernon or 4-6 to develop just need to have a plan with DEPTH .....
