Ok, I'll buy the KR work. But I still don't buy that Cam and his system MADE him what we saw. I think we saw what RB has always been, we just got a better sample size, thanks to Cam finally featuring RB prominently. Again, I saw no difference in his running style from Saban to Cameron, only an increase in use.
I saw a difference. I saw a difference just between the Dallas game and the Jets game. One of the things Ronnie Brown had CONSISTENTLY done through the course of his career was start games out ice cold. While many such as yourself would say well then you just need to give him more and more carries, the fact of the matter is starting out a game so remarkably cold puts the offense in a bad footing from the start of a game and leads to situations that are not conducive toward continued running. I think with the Jets game and beyond, he started to run in those first couple of carries and in the first quarter the way he had in subsequent quarters in other games. I also saw a string of bad defenses that couldn't stop him, Patriots game notwithstanding. I don't think it's so very hard to believe that a guy with a reputation as an offensive guru did things from both a schematic and a motivational standpoint that actually showed up on the football field with good offense...until the successive losses of the #1 quarterback, the #1 receiver and the pro bowl back completely torpedoed the entire offense. There's a reason that as soon as Cam was fired, he was a hot ticket item as an offensive coordinator again. He had interest from multiple teams. He certainly wasn't about to be one of those guys that gets bumped all the way back to position coach. Cameron unfortunately was not ready to be the guy leading an NFL team. That's what I think. He just wasn't strong enough, in the end. He didn't have a natural feel for how to command the respect of the players. He overestimated his players' professionalism and attitudes.
didnt read the whole thread so hopefully im not repeating someone else. RB was on pace last year to finish with 89 catches. in 2 seasons He averaged 33 rec a year which means he averaged 2 rec. a game. Last season He had 39 rec in 7 games last year averaging 5 rec. a game.
