nice write-up on esquire. i read ebert all the time, even though i disagree with his personal beliefs and how those beliefs color his movie reviews

ebert is great at describing the classics and skewering terrible movies.

he has cancer and lost his lower jaw. cant talk or eat, but never stops working

    enjoy:

I didn't know this about Ebert until now.

My God, what a cursed pair, Siskel and Ebert! At least Siskel went relatively fast; Ebert's woes seem right out of the book of Job.

    What an amazing spirit, though.

The guy has a hell of a work ethic. I probably would have said screw it by now if I were him. But then again his job is to watch movies. Its probably a fun gig even watching the terrible ones just because you can rip them apart.

You can be a total ******* and still get cancer.

I sympathize with him in that he has a terrible illness that has claimed members of my own family, but it doesn't mean that he is not a total prick. Which he is.
