Jayson Stark makes a compelling case in his article about this year's Hall of Fame class and those who should be in.

I still say Rice should be in before them all. Nothing against Raines.

I agree Raines should be in, but like Dawson, he spent the best years of his career in Canada playing for the Expos. Raines is probably the 2nd best lead off hitter of all time (behind Rickey of course). His stole bases, caught stealing % and OBP should have pushed him over the line. I think he'll get it but it's going to be awhile.

As a young wipper snapper, beside the Met players I always use to dream I was while playing, Rice and Dawson were always guys I would act like when I was hitting.

Than again, I use to try and bat like Willie Montanez also.:huh1:

I have to admit, I had no idea Raines' stats were that good. That article by Stark blew me away.

I saw Tim Raines play for a minor league team called the Denver Bears, here in Colorado in the early 80's. He was a great player and I think he is pretty deserving of the Hall.
