The best there ever was or ever will be. Just watch him tackle, textbook form with violent intentions every time. I played MLB thru High School and he was my idol. Never be seen again the way he played, Singletary, LT, Zack et all included.
"Hall of Famer Dick Butkus, considered by many the greatest middle linebacker in NFL history, has died. He was 80 and died in his sleep at home in Malibu, California, his family said Thursday. He played nine seasons for the Chicago Bears, starting in 1965, and was named to eight Pro Bowls, USA Today reports. His vicious tackling once earned him a Sports Illustrated cover, showing the Butkus sneer under his helmet, with the headline, "The Most Feared Man in the Game."

RIP, Dick Butkus. As a boy, highlights of Dick Butkus and the Colts' Mike Curtis pretty much made sure my interest in football stayed pretty much non-participatory.

It’s a shame injury forced him to retire at 31.
A legend on and off the field…..
