Wasn't sure where to post this, either in the "Other NFL" or religious forum I personally don't see what the big deal is. If you don't want a custom "Jesus" jersey, then don't get one. It just utterly amazes me...if you're brown skinned your name is "hey zeus" and no one has an issue with it, but if you were nailed to a cross....ooooooooo, that shouldn't be on the back of a jersey. Not that I expect alot of responses to this thread, but thoughts anyone?
everyone has an issue with you if you're brown skinned and named jesus, ask arizona As for this, does seem like a comparison of tebow to jesus which is just weird if anything.
Agree lucky...putting the Jesus name on jersey with that number seems not only weird but somewhat off and for lack of a better term icky
See, DK, once again you are polluting this board with logic and common sense. You should be fomenting anger and discord instead, like our politicians. All kidding aside, I firmly believe that Jesus, having become man, has a sense of humor, and He is probably laughing about it right now. Those who think it's blasphemous should lighten up a little and consider instead whether getting the name of Jesus before the public in this fashion is a roundabout way of speading the Gospel by calling attention to Tebow's ministry. Just realize that Jesus knows that He would give a team an unfair advantage if He played quarterback, so He probably won't be declaring Himself eligible for the draft. Besides, we all know that if He decided to come out, He would want to be a Dolphin, not a Bronco, so the whole debate is absurd.
As a christian, I am not insulted...."last name" on the back of a Jersey is standard operating procedure (for teams silly enough to use names on the back - Go Yankees - always doing it the right way)....thus if someone wants to put Jesus, God, Yahweh, I AM....its meaningless. What impact from last name S.O.P. is that causing? Its not an insult in my way of thinking as a Human, or Christian. What harm is done from "last name" standpoint? Personally, I find it INSULTING that I am Forced to purchase a PRO JERSEY with a Name on it at all....I want just the #, but they wont sell those. That's insulting. As they say, the name on the front of the Jersey is whats really important. IMO!
