All of the above. Ones with most votes by all of the above are starters and then the ones with most votes after that are backups and alternates etc.
Jones has a good shot at playing then because of the guys that made it at safety. I suppose Ed Reed won't play (plus he is UFA). Landry and Berry aren't exactly injury free.
Must've been all the players, coaches, and fans of other teams that voted for Hartline, since the fans of his own team think he's garbage.
If we had an established quarterback, and Brian Hartline had the same numbers, people would be fine with him. It's only when you feel the need to identify a scapegoat for the failure of the "Ryan Tannehill rookie year fantasy" that you become disenchanted with Brian Hartline.
Yeah I was one of them. Damn I was wrong, but in a good way. I hope he sets a Pro Bowl record in receiving yards, scores 3 TD's, and gets traded to the Bears for 2 3rd rounders...
Well, the lack of Td's is not optimal, however he has had a great season otherwise. It's not that their misgivings are unfounded, more that they were blown out of proportion.
I would never be ok with a starting wr havin one touchdown in 30 games. I guess Tannehill deserves zero credit for Hartline having a career year.
There are two types of pro-bowlers. Guys who get name recognition but whose play doesn't warrant it, and the opposite. I suspect the article on NFL.com by Jeff Darlington on Hartline leading the league in receiving had something to do with it.
The one in October? It is possible he made pro bowl alternate because he almost died during the offseason.
I'd think the AZ game had far more to do with it. Put it this way, even I had forgotten about that story.
I don't think anyone is calling him garbage. what they are saying is we NEED MORE! It should not be that ****ing hard to see at this point. Our #1 receiver has one touchdown. One.
Absolutely, we do need more, however if he is retained we are not starting out at -0-. Your Te's for example, need more than 500 combined receiving yards, your #3 Wr needs more than a pathetic handful of receptions.
You need a bulldozer to clear the crap in this forum lately! You love stirring the pot and amplifying issues into more than anyone ever stated. Additionally you got to love in the same thread people using the alternate Pro Bowl status for Hartline as proof that he is a top WR but at the same time stating the voters were drunk and aren't credible because Incognito won an alternate spot. Too funny!
CR, objectivity has been tossed overboard. Objectively, Hartline has had a damn good year, no one is saying he is Megatron, however he is not Nanee either.
Richie has been playing better as the season has went along. The past 3 games have been his best 3 consecutive game stretch this season. Since Long has been out and he's been playing next to Martin, it seems he's elevated his game, for some reason.
A world where dumb fans of other teams around the league probably read an article about Pouncey having a standout year and thought "I'll vote for that Steelers guy to show how much I know about centers..."
Richie should consider a namechange to Cognito as he no longer is incognito....which means unknown in latin .And while he is at it he could change his first name to Immundo.....which means dirty in latin since his main claim to fame is habitually making the NFLs dirtiest players list . So his full name should be Immundo Cognito.
I'm confused. It's okay to point out that Incognito (and Hartline) both made the Pro Bowl as Alternates, but when I discuss Pouncey getting passed over that's an indictment on Ireland and his lack of drafting playmakers? In what kind of world does that make sense? Incognito doesn't deserve to be in the Pro Bowl - Pouncey does. Though at the end of the day this thing is no more than a popularity contest anyway. I'll wait for the All Pro results. Like I always do.
Pouncey was not passed over, he is an alternate also. LOL to piss people off even more on this board, Incognito is FIRST alternate at guard. Pouncey is also first alternate at center. The first team guards are from New England, Houston and Baltimore. That means if any of those three teams go to the Super Bowl Incognito gets the first nod to play. I guess tens of thousands of votes from the fans, players, coaches and media outweigh what some of Miamis own fans want. People forget, Players coaches and media vote on this the same as everyone else does its open to everyone and everyone does vote.
That "for some reason" thing is a bit odd to me. He played like **** at the beginning of the season and has been much better the second half. He's had some surprisingly good games too, and it's not like it's been bad competition either. If he played like he has the second half of the season like he was the first, I think he'd merit going. Not really so much overall, though.
