ESPN - Report: Cleveland Browns may offer coach Romeo Crennel demotion

There may be silver linings available for Brown coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Phil Savage after all.

Crennel, who has been on the chopping block with the Browns for several weeks, may get an opportunity to stay with the team as defensive coordinator, according to a report in The Plain Dealer of Cleveland.

Thats just a wierd move and one Im totally not on board with. I think its a horrible decision from a franchise that has been making to many of them. Your really gonna bring in a new coach with the old coach as one of your main assistants? So many bad scenarios to come out of that I dont know where to begin.

Hiring coordinators before head coaches is always a good idea.

    Ask the 2007 Miami Dolphins.

no on with self respect would take this kind of demotion. He can get another job as defensive coordinator, so why would he want to do it in a crappy organization like Cleveland? Crennel should take a job as a defensive coach on a team with a great staff and front office and work his way back up, Cleveland is years away from being a decent team.
