Well. of course Post WHoring is probably the easiest way to gain rep, becuase it is clearly evident that post count contributes...by post whoring of course I mean that if somebody were to perhaps do 6 consecutive and 8 out of 10 posts on a single page...yep THAT would be post whoring...

Here's the scoop (located on another board that apparently uses the same software):

What is (Rep Power)?

The Rep Power (i.e. reputation) system allows members to leave comments about one anothers' posts, and thereby contribute to their overall 'Rep Power'. Your Rep Power number is based from the votes and opinions of other forum users that choose use the system.

How do I know what My Rep Power level is?

To see your Rep Power number level, place your mouse over the text "Rep Power:" to the left of the green box (found under your username and avatar in posts). It may take a moment for the number to appear.

To see your Rep Power title, place your mouse over the green blob, and again some text will appear.

Your Rep Power number level and title may change over time based on how your posts are scored by other forum participants.

How do I use Rep Power?

Members with the ability to affect Rep Power (members with a Rep Power under 10 can not give or take Rep Power from others), may either give or take aways points by approving or disapproving with a post's content. You may optionally leave a nice comment (the member will appreciate it). Click the "Helpful post? Add to my Rep Power" text on the specific members post you wish to give or take Rep Power from.

Do not abuse the system. Admin and Moderators can see who has given or taken Rep Power and how many times. If we find that you have abused the system by artificially inflating your buddies Rep Power (or artificially deflating someone you just don't like) without good reason you will lose your privilege to use the system.

What do the numbers mean?

All new members start with a number level of 10 and is "is on a distinguished road."

The next levels are at 30, 150, 250, 350, 450, 550, 650, 1000, 1500, and 2000. You will have to reach each level to find out what each one says (mouse over the green box when your number reaches a new level).

How much Rep Power number can I give?

You start off being able to give or take 1 point (admins can of course give or take more).

For every 365 daysof registration, you gain 1 point of Rep Power-altering power.

For every 100 posts, you gain 1 point of Rep Power-altering power.

For every 100 points of Rep Power you have, you gain 1 point of Rep Power-altering power.

You can only give 5 Rep Power votes over each 24 hour period.

You must give 6 different users Rep Power to before you can hit the same person again.

Woot! It is a sliding scale! I'm not sure what the specific levels are, but I'm glad I have that confirmed for me finally It also makes sense now how much rep you need to have rep-altering power and how it can be modded up or down depending on your posts. Sweetness!

When i mouse over the rep power, nothing happens but when i mouse over the green thingies, it says that "
I'll be famous soon enough".

Also I'm at a 2 right now, so that means i lost 8 points??

 

The Rep hack is tied to the Thanks hack. You get rep points when you are thanked.

 

speaking of thanx, why are the names of those who give thanx different colors and fonts? Does it signify something? Am I special cause I'm orange? I always thought I was special cause I'm blonde...

 

It is however, pretty evident that you Mal are stuck at 10 ...as are a couple of the other members....

 

Each member group is designated by a font color. Orange is the font color for Premium members (and blonde gals)

 

I had artificially limited the rep points for Admins while I was testing it way back when and just forgot the change it back.

I changed the option to read true values.

 

ROFLMAO...From 10 to 64 pretty quickly....Looks much much better
