A good - veteran #1 WR works wonders for a Rookie QB and his confidence. Too bad we couldnt grab him last offseason...
That's not exactly true. For a while he thought about going where Manning was going and even joked about how awesome it would be to play in Miami again with Manning if he signed here.
Thought I heard that too, but geez...as a WR who wouldn't want to play with Peyton Manning, even a partial, more mature Peyton ?? You could ask that question of just about EVERY wr and get the same response...
Not sure about this. I do know that he was probably more valuable to the Colts, since they wanted to have a reliable WR for their rookie QB.
God. That last Colts drive....Luck was throwing it well, but man Wayne was snagging everything effortlessly.
Didn't he sign before or during the first day of FA? That would suggest he really wasn't interested in a move despite his musings.
Or it could just suggest that the Colts gave him pretty much exactly what he wanted. Who knows what Reggie Wayne was thinking or why he decided to stay there?
He did sign the first day, and he signed shortly after Garcon got his big deal with the Redskins. I think both the Colts and Wayne wanted each other at that point. He didn't visit with any other team. Which tells me, it wasn't all about money and that he did want to stay there. Sure, he waited until Garcon signed elsewhere, which upped the ante for the Colts.
I'm happy Ryan is developing with meagre weapons. It will force him to be very good, almost perfect, in his execution to get results. Then, when we add better talent at WR and TE it will become even easier for him. He's developing sharp skills this way.
Just curious have you noticed Brain Hartline helping our rookie? He has done wonders and actually leads the NFL in receiving yards. Wyne would be great here but he only wanted to leave the Colts if he could follow Peyton Manning.
