Four of the world's biggest recording companies have sued the producers of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," accusing them of using songs without permission.
This crap has gotten way outta hand.

Good. Ellen sucks.
But seriously, yes its gotten way outta hand. You cant find many TV series on DVD now in days, something you pay alot of money for, only to find that the original music was replaced by generic elevator music because of the high cost of purchasing song rights. Our copyright laws are seriously out of date and need to be modified in this era of globalization and mass media.
