http://www.wqam.com/index.php?page=1&sid=6f0cukn1nlmlrusor7jq1d4a0lpl772r Joey P doesn't spill the beans per se, but it is a great interview in that he mentions that Wake and JT's presence just means that our OLB rotation will have starter quality players who can rush the passer and apparently our defense will be rather complex this season. And JP talking about his 7 yr olds learning that even pee wee football is merciless...funny stuff.
Love the attitude that they aren't going to rest on last year's laurels/accomplishments. I think our D is going to dominate with the players knowing what their roles are and being in their 2nd year of the system. Like what he said about how they have the experience now to step up the complexity of the D.
great problems to have on defense: 1) too many good players, who's going to start 2) or how to modify the system so we can take advantage of so much talent can't remember the last time we went into a season with so many wonderful problems
#1 is actually a very good, but very worrying point, last season Ireland and Sparano had a free hand, they could try to pickup whomever they wanted, if they did not pan out, no big deal. This season though, we have enough talent at several positions that the Staff and Ireland have to make some tough calls, and these are key positions like Cb, Olb, rotational NT, Wr, offensive line depth. The stakes are much higher this season, last year was like a mad experiment/three ring circus, this season is very very different. This is the first season since 06 that it "counts".
damned if you do, damned if you don't? not to worry, they know what they're doing this is a good thing, not a bad thing
