http://tvline.com/2014/05/22/tv-season-rankings-2013-2014-big-bang-theory-greys-anatomy/ Some really interesting stuff here. 'The Blacklist' is the top new drama by a wide margin, and the #2 new comedy got canceled.
*SIGH* Other than football, the only show on that whole list that I watched was Almost Human, which is only on there because it was cancelled. I can only presume that my tastes just continue to go in the opposite direction from the viewing public at large, lol. I don't watch the most popular shows, and I have zero interest in the "nitch" shows either (Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, ect). After Community got cancelled, I'm literally down to I think 4 shows in the fall. Lots more time on my hands in the evening to play video games, I guess.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to how the broadcast networks work; in the 2012-2013 season, the top three new comedies got canceled. It just defies logic. The pay and extended-cable networks seem to be far more consistent in this regard.
Although, I have to say; FX's decision to relegate 'Legit' to FXX and then cancel it is one of the most stupendously bonehead moves ever. The series was good in S1, but S2 transcended its genre and was one of the best seasons of television I've seen. Maybe Netflix or Amazon will pick it up.
