Exactly, give me that same Tannehill game every week without the Wallace and Miller fumbles, half of the PI no-calls we should have had and a key drop or two less and we'll win a ton of games this year.

IMO on the interception he threw to Wallace, there should have been an illegal contact penalty.

More and more I think I need to separate Tannehill into two categories: how he plays w Wallace, and how he plays w everyone else.

I think the play where Trent Green mentioned that, it was actually Dion Sims who made the block. He contributed a lot with his run blocks today. Almost like a 6th OL.

Tale of two halves. He looked like crap the first half. Better the 2nd half though. He still needs to prove himself though.

Yep, and what I saw was the OL getting into Rhythm and Moreno following then upfield, then heading north and south

TBH Moreno reminded me of the "good" Ronnie Brown today

Yet, in 2008, playing with two shoulder injuries, the line as whole with him at C did pretty well in the man power scheme. After the way he gutted out the '08 season, I thought trading him was a pretty sorry excuse for what should have been a slap on the back.

Decisions are fine, THill's problem is placement accuracy

Catch the ball, heading downhill, our O guys are happy to catch the ball B/C of it

IE miller falling down

Satele deserves a good PFF grade. If he doesn't come out positive, like at least a +1.5 to 2.5, I'm sending them an email expressing my consternation.

The start was Epic. It was a knockdown. Three and out, recovered blocked punt, TD.
O dominated even during the turnovers, we were rolling over them.
Then the Phins got rolling on all cylinders in the second half, steamrolled the Pats.

Too bad the turnovers and a few missed throws ruined what could've been an Epic blowout by like 40 points, a college score.

I dunno if it was as bad as dog poo, but his overall effort was rather Henne like. We need better from him that is for sure.

Wallace had 7 catches, 3 more than anyone else. The 4 times they didn't connect looked like more on RT's accuracy than Wallace's effort to catch it.

If this game is gonna be the worst of RT17 this season, then I'm okay with this.

Moreno to me seems like the "good" Lamar Smith, like during the 2000 season.

not sure how you can put that fumble all on Wallace, it was a simple cross route and Ryan had an open lane to see it, if he leads him Wallace doesn't fumble, he threw the ball completely behind him while Wallace was in full stride, Wallace makes a 180, catches on hips, turns and gets planted, not his fault for where his body was positioned, terribly easy throw that was terrible.

I've mentioned 17 , don't think he was nearly that bad , not nearly. Had gaffes and bad plays but he wasn't helped nearly as much by his receivers as he should have been imo. Game to build on.

That's not exactly what you want from a top-10 overall quarterback. You'd like to see Tannehill improve significantly, which would put less of an onus on the rest of the team to have to improve. Of course you'd like to see both, but it's a quarterback-driven league, and you want that cornerstone in place if you expect to be highly competitive.

Dog poo is too harsh. He left 21 easy points off the board that the system gift wrapped for him. Can't do that.

Sturgis pleasantly surprised.

Tanny did play poorly overall, but his only mistake was the INT. And that INT was due to someone being in his face and causing him to throw off of his back foot. However, and Trent Green was saying the same thing, Tanny was inaccurate all day long. He needs to better lead his receivers and he needs to get it to them on time.

I'll take the win though. And I won't be too hard on some the bad play by Wallace or the drop by Clay because it's the first game of the season.

And thank you Denver for Moreno. What a beast...

Like I said, if this is his WORST. I'm not expecting this to be his norm for the season.

My point is that I'm not sure there's any reason not to expect this to be his norm for the season. It was his norm for last season, and I don't think we have any indication that it isn't his ceiling in the NFL.

It was a good way to get Sturgis off on the right foot. 3 of the 4 attempts were totally chip shots. After not kicking much in preseason, it is good have him feeling comfortable and confident.

That's a nice thought, but the same weaknesses are there, no pocket presence, 0 escapability/reactionary quickness, and absolutely dead instincts when to tuck and run.

I think he has a problem assimilating pressure from his brain to his athleticism..it doesn't get transferred.

The good news for him and us is that even for him, he played a poor game..

McCain and Jenkins definitely deserve a start.

Yes. I was very happy with his kickoffs, he boomed quite a few out of the endzone, and on the short ones he put enough air under them so the coverage team was not at a disadvantage.
