Similar to Yahoo Answers, this forum is a place for you to ask questions of your fellow members. Thanks goes to Jt0323 for the idea. Please try to keep your question serious. You can ask about homework, suggestions about personal issues, etc.
Great Idea JT, and thanks for implementing it Celt. Just a idea that crossed my mind. Some people may have problems but don't want to know who they are. Although we all are brothers and sisters here. Just a idea if even possible but give the option of making it a anonymous post. Just a idea either way this is a great idea.
Actually I have no idea of the logisitics, but that is a very very good idea. ALSO, JT needs to post in here as I know MANY of us would like to Thank him for this... One of the true silent hero's here. Often contributing, not often getting the credit deserved.
Brilliant idea bro. I will look into implementing that suggestion of at least allowing a member the option of posting questions anonymously here.
so do you want this to be one long thread? or should questions be submitted in new threads as opposed to posts in this one?
Anonymous posting? Sweet now I dont have to be afraid of asking "What should I do if it burns when I pee?" J/K Hopefully I wont have to ask that, anyway good job guys.
This is cool! I hope this turns out to be a good sub forum! I also love the idea of the anonymous post
Great idea guys. I know this will make questions a lot easier to find and answer especially when several technology questions are frequently asked. This will streamline everything so much better. JT and all you guys that put this together should be commended and the anonymous post idea is great also.
Great idea guys! I just have one quick question. On the right, it says "Top Helpers" and my username is listed with a "1" next to it. What does that mean?
it means you weren't sneaky enough with your answer. see, you have no idea who is answering this right now. P.S. great idea. one day i will reveal my identity, only to be booed.
can mods see the anonymous poster or is he or she truly anonymous? a bit of a rhetorical since there really is no anonymity on the internet, but seriously.. can you guys see them?
mods can't.. don't know about admins, could be only webmasters..George and Malcolm but I don't really know. I have never seen a violation of that anonymity here in staff forums. We have a privacy policy where we don't don't read mail and stuff here and as hard as it was to run down one of thread authors where we thought a member was in serious jeapordy I'm thinking it really IS anonymous.
I know you guys don't go snooping and stuff i was just wondering about the extent of the anonymity. i post all my issues out in the open so it's really a non issue for me i was more curious for others.
Great forum... I love giving help/advice when I can. I think everyone loves being asked for their opinion... actually, that's a fact Just a suggestion though, on the first thread, you should note that if you're asking for computer help it would be extremely helpful if a person would post their computer specs. Here's a good format: Is your computer Apple or Windows? What is the operating system (include version info, like Service Pack 2, etc)? Who is the computer made by? How old is the computer? What browser do you use? What antivirus program do you use? The following can be found by right clicking on "My Computer" and clicking "Properties": How much RAM is installed? What is your processor speed?
