Guys, can you PM this stuff back and forth. Unless other posters here really wanna read it (which they might). But clearly this is more about CK and RGF going back and forth regarding one another than about comparing Hickey and Ireland.

Or do I have to start bombing the thread with Steve Ross is a moron photos and rants? :)

I can't say Gronk hasn't been one of the more prolific TEs the last 4 yrs. He's also been a part of one of the more prolific offenses in the league. The fact is he's missed half or more of the last two seasons because of medicals, that were part of his history in college. From that facet, Ireland felt the medicals overrode the potential. From a perspective of the potential, he was wrong, but many bashed Ireland for the same thing with Long ?? He was fine for the first three years and then broke down and did the same for the Rams this year. Was that a bad move by Ireland ?? If you don't think so, then him passing on Gronk because of the same reasons makes it not a bad move ?? We don't know about Gronk and his ankle/acl/back/arm yet, but if he can't produce for them what difference does it make... If nothing more, the jury is still out, not from his ability, but his medicals...just as many said about Jake Long...

lol. Well, I was joking… mostly.

I'm trying to convince myself to be curious about what Dickey does with the draft.

Thing is… I have this theory I want to test about his draft criteria. Once we've drafted I'll get to check it.

I didn't answer the original poll. My answer is, "I hope so."

Well, this team has had some big name guys or people with decent resumes who did not exactly work out. Maybe some unknown with a not so great history who was past over for almost two decades is just what the team needs. :) :hammertime:

You gotta' hope. What else are we going to do? Go root for another team? Ahhh. It's been way too long for me to change now. Would never think of it anyhow.

If you can get this feedback about the guy did the Dolphins not due any due diligence on him, the Miami scouts would know about him, people get called aholes based on others envy.

Stringer Bell cannot even decide how to vote in his own poll. I guess he feels strongly both ways. :sidelol:

Guy hasn't even lost us a game yet and here you are complaining. That said I think he's going to be a terrible GM and the whole situation is just bad. Should have blown it up or let everyone stay. Now we get the 2011 season all over again.

At this point seems like they are both equal. Hickey just seems like an average prospect.

everyone acts like ireland did nothing but destroy the roster..... forgetting the roster he inherited.... and now its widely understood we could do no worse...... this fan base will probably get what it deserves this year.... a collosal first round bust, 0-5 start... more of what they want ( reasons to complain ) Forget the owner..... its got to be hard to play for fans like this. We created this lowsy culture down here.... not Ross. So please, stop b1tching.

Just finally read through this thread. Whew … Couple of thoughts:

    1. Even with the injuries, I'd take Gronk over Misi to date. There is no doubt Gronk is not impressive in interviews and some of his off field actions (like the wrestling move he pulled with his broken arm) demonstrate that he is a wildcard. So, Ireland's concerns were real. But, it was still worth the pick, given he's arguably one of the most dominant if not the most dominant position players in the entire NFL when healthy.

    2. CK is without doubt the most plugged in poster on this board. I don't always agree with his particular take, but have come to have a strong respect for his information and analysis most of the time (everyone misses, of course). The reality is he clearly spends a great deal of time on his craft and has a ton of info. He is as trustworthy a poster as any on this board. And, adds a great level of depth to matters here.

    just my $.02.
