just playin.... i was seriously thinking about getting a 360 with the price cut, but now ive decided to still go ps3......now heres the question.....is it worth the 100 bucks to upgrade to the 80g ?!?! also any real good games under the radar i might not know about?!?! when i get online ill post my online name!
Well if your attention span with those kinda games is the same as GLB I'd say don't waste your money. The Harddrive space is for downloading demos, movies, game updates, music, etc... Typical person probably won't need 80 GB. As far as games, depends what your into......... Action/Adventure - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Metal Gear Solid 4, Assassin's Creed, Grand Theft Auto 4 Online Shooter/Action - Warhawk, COD 4 Racing - Need for Speed, GT5 Prologue Sports - NCAA Football, Madden, NHL, NBA etc............
The 80 GB is only worth it if you get one with BC. And you may want to look into the Sony Card, as you may be able to get $100+ off a PS3 that way. EDit: NVM, looks like the sony card deal is dead, at least the $100 or $150 cash back is dead.
Backwards Compatibility - means it will play PS2 games as well. Its all good I'm just messing with you.
so ps3 plays ps1 games....but not ps2 games?! quirky.... so you are all unanimous....im just gunna play games and play online...just go with the 40g ?!
Hurry, because i think they discontinued the 40 now. Gonna go all 80 now... If my memory serves me right.
The new 80 gb will be the same price as what the 40 was though. Also, I think it is like 120 or 160 GB will be the new ps3.
damn....so should i wait till the new one? im so damn confussssseeeeddddd!!!! if u are me....any of you.....and are walking into a store this weekend to getta next gen system.....what do YOU get ?!
Right now, the only PS3 model you can buy brand-new is the 80 GB non-backwards compatible version. Decision made. If you can wait, a 160 GB version bundled with the game Uncharted comes out in November. But you sound like you're about to burst, so I wouldn't recommend that. 320GB? Pfffffffft. You're thinking small. Try 500GB.
and money is tight, so im assuming the 160 will be heavy on my wallet (or light) so il go with the 80g edit: that comes with blu-ray?!
I have an external terabyte that I am less than 1/10th through filling up, I don't need 500GB on my ps3, lol.
Sony usually prices the lower-capacity PS3 model at $400 and the higher-capacity at $500. When the 160GB PS3 comes out, it should be $500, while the 80GB model remains at its current $400. All PS3s come with Blu-Ray. Again, the only differences between the various PS3 models are the size of the hard drives and backwards compatibility. It doesn't sound like you need backwards compatibility, so you might as well buy now. 80GB is the only model available at the moment. Go for it.
You know, if I had a real speaker system (as opposed to the jury-rigged PC speakers I've got hooked up here...) I'd replace the PS3's hard drive, fill it up with music and movies, and use it as the centerpiece of an entertainment system. The movies alone would probably make 500GB seem small.
In addition to what's already been listed, check out Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Soul Calibur IV, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (buy it on the PlayStation Network Store), Unreal Tournament III, Grand Theft Auto IV, The Orange Box, F.E.A.R., and probably Warhawk. Upcoming games to keep an eye on: SOCOM Confrontation, F.E.A.R. 2, Wip3out HD, Saints Row 2, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, Fallout 3, Killzone 2, Final Fantasy XIII, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Resident Evil 5, Infamous, and whatever Hideo Kojima does next.
Just to clarify guys... The current 80GB that is being shipped is NOT BC. Only the older discontinued 80's do BC. PlayStation 3 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
i have a ton pf ps2 games....i wouldnt mind playing them.....but whats the point when i can now play ps3 games?! Im all syked for this......you up for some madden when i get it?!
I have a 40. It doesn't do BC. I'd LOVE for them to offer BC as a download or something. I wouldn't mind getting my PS2 out of there.
I got an 80 used, I love it. My ps2 had just bit the dust (wouldn't read anything), so I wanted BC. I have only player FFXII and GoW on the ps3 so far though.
I've been playing NFS: Most Wanted the last two days since finding out about the new NFS coming out in Nov.
