Need to cut or tade Moore for something (should have probably done that last season). Then if Tannehill misses a game, Devlin can step in and begin to take over the job, and when he starts winning, we'll begin to have a quarterback controversy. Once he secures the job (Nick Foles style), then we can trade Tannehill for a high pick (or keep him as a solid backup). And the winning begins..And this probably will happen, especially if we get rid of Ireland. (Somebody mark this thread).

I think if Zac Taylor is removed as QB coach, and Miami brings in a more seasoned guy as his replacement, the chances of Moore being cut will skyrocket.

To be honest, there were a few times when he did look better. I think we should keep him and give him a few snaps per game just to keep him fresh. Remember Wood/Strock? (when Don Shula used two starting QB's David Woodley and Don Strock? This was the before the Marino days, and Shula went to the Super Bowl that way. Bob Griese had Earl Morral, when Griese got hurt in the undefeated season, Morral took the team into the history books. Maybe Tanehill needs Moore, and maybe Philbin shouldn't be so reluctant to use him a little. Food for thought at least.

Trot this out in a couple of years and we will see how you did. I don't see it.

I like Moore but dollars count.

I have been saying that Devlin is going to be a player in this league for a couple years now. I think if Tannehill continues to struggle we could see Pat Devlin get his shot next year. I still think Tannehill is the guy without a doubt. I am just saying that I think Devlin can play too once he gets his shot. I don't think we should re-sign Matt Moore. From what I hear Devlin is a hard worker and is more than deserving of his shot at #2 on the depth chart and maybe more.

I can't tell if the tannehill bashing is sincere or not. I must have missed the first 14 games of the season where tannehill was pretty much the team. The fact that in this conversation devlin can go from the worst possible qb to the future of the franchise says everything about devlin. No one actually knows if he can play. Put simply he won't play unless tannehill stinks the place out and that hasn't happened in his first two seasons. Some people looking to judge a very very green rookie on two seasons with his supporting cast are being very naive. Ask the vikings who they'd have rather had this year. Ask the raiders. Or jacksonville. Or the titans. Or the browns. Or heck, even the giants or jets. Tannehill carried this team for most of the season and some are talking like he's a super bust. I assume from some of the posts that we won inspite of tannehill and not because of him. Our talent drenched team.

Moore either renegotiates or he's gone. Too much money when the line needs that much work (did you tannehill bashers notice him get creamed a ridiculous amount this year?) Draft a late rounder or find some competition if he goes. We can't have it the same as this year.

I do agree with you that Tannehill is the main reason we won as many games as we did this season. I also think the discussions that Moore and Devlin eventually taking Tannehill's starting job might be the dumbest S*** I've read on this board in a long time. the problem is that since Tannehill hasn't proven that he's a franchise QB "YET", people are already giving up on him. It just dumbfounds me that with the incredibly crappy supporting cast around Tannehill and especially in front of him that people are doubting him even though his numbers improved quite a bit from season 1 to season 2.

Moore is a decent backup, and make no mistake that we need a decent backup behind this OL, but how much is he worth? As far as trading Tanny and starting Moore...i'm sorry but I have to dismiss that has a bad joke.

If we had a decent OL and kicker...we would be in the playoffs...Moore had both in the season he started and he pulled out mediocre results. Ryan has had....Hartline and Clay...that's pretty much it.

If we can get a good OG or OT for him, I say let him fly and draft a backup.

Not that i agree, but that's pretty damn funny dude.

I dunno, if delvin is the golden boy we're made to believe he is, why do we need matt moore. Delvin has looked good in preseason at least

WoaWish woah, who said Devlin is surpassibg Tannehill. I'm probably his biggest advocate and spot starter is the highest ceiling I give.
