I always try and play mine the first day as well. Don't worry about being too fast, trust me thats a good thing.
2 Questions for planning of the off-season: 1) Will the current players get "re-evaluted levels" based on real life 2009 NFL seasons levels? Also, before we start the 2010 Fantasy Schedule will be bring over the actual last rosters online before we set up 2010 draft?? or will we use our last Madden Franchise rosters?? 2) Will we bring over the NCAA 2010 draft roster and player's?? Of just use make believe draft players of current online franchise?? thanks -
For #2, I would love to bring over the NCAA 2010 draft roster. It'll make the franchise mode much more realistic.

I think we need to set a deadline. Like if you dont get your game played in X amount of days we advance regardless.
we had one, and it got switched cause some people asked for time, and a few times i couldnt get on..... but usually its around monday night....after the weekend activities and everything.....we are goin neck and neck with the current nfl season which is pretty cool....but i know me (and others) wanna play their games....so its only fair to A. get it played or B. let me know to sim the week and i will...and you can take you chances winning a simulated game if anyone needs extra time they know to ask me.....but i think there has been plenty of time this week. i will be advancing tonight it takes 1 hour....you guys can make time
Three things 1) I played today, but got disconnected at the end so it didn't count. I didn;t have time to play again and am fine if it has to be simmed. 2) When Sick and I discussed the initial rules for the league I was the first to suggest setting a deadline. I have pounded a drum loudly to enforce that Monday/Tuesday deadline. In fact, I nagged about it for weeks. Well, once we fell over a week behind, to be blunt, I stopped really caring since it was not being enforced (Not trying to be a dick, Sick, as I REALLY appreciate all the time and effort you put into the league, especially when I dropped the ball early on, just saying, if the rules aren;t enforced repeatedly, they stop mattering. You're just a nicer guy than I am, so are lenient with people who are late. Maybe I'm just a dick, but I would sim it on them and tell them it's their own fault because they knew there was a deadline.) Anyways, that's why I got lax, but I am TOTALLY cool with getting simmed if I have not played a game by the time Sick says I have to. That's the point of having Sick as commish. his word goes. 3) Sorry Alex, but I have to be honest and say that as a guy who has been in this all season, it's rubbing me wrong to have new guys joining in week 13 and then them being impatient and vociferous about how things are being run. A cadets first week in the bunkhouse it's not cool, imo, to be demanding and pointing out how things ought to be run. I mean seriously, joining a week ago and already saying "I speak for everyone" when you say you want people's games played fast is pretty presumptuous, imo. Anyways, as Sick explained, there were rules established for deadlines. (overall, though, all the sudden focus on the draft etc when the playoffs haven;t happened yet is part of the problem of latecomers in a league in general... people joinging after the fact are already impatient for next season, to some degree and so are totally out of sync with where the rest of us are right now in this season). Now y'all are free to be miffed at me. I'm just being honest. (and pissed that I was up 56-7 with 1 second left in the fourth quarter when the server disconnected me so I have to play the effing game again). If you have to sim it, that's fine. I have been strongly in favor of a zero tolerance deadline policy from the outset. If people can;t make an hour to play then they don;t care enough about the league and we shouldn't wait on them. That includes me, Sick, everyone, imo. That's fair. Apologies if I am gruff. I'm on my period.
BPK, I said I speak for everyone because that is an obvious thing that everyone would want. Not because I think I deserve say in how the league should be run. If I ever saying anything I preface it with "I have an idea" or "I think" I'd never try and make things the way I want them. I'm not upset with the time it's taking. I was saying it would be more FAIR to EVERYONE for there to be a set deadline rather than Sick just popping in and going TIMES UP. But then it was explained to me. Also man...it's just a Madden league. Some people may have only joined recently but we have all known eachother on the forum since way before then. I'd like to think that counts for something.
simmed this morning, gave everyone throughout the night as well..... ill go on record now with a "soft" deadline of monday night after the mnf game. give people a chance to play all week/weekend.....to get the game done. and obviously like normal if everyone has their game played.....we will advance earlier. also, i have pm'ed unifiedtheory.....with no response....if anyone knows him and could ask if hes still interested in this league? he is one game back from asraft in the nfc east.....and its only fair to the giants that he plays his games......cause ive noticed the eagles winning alot of sim games....and the giants are playing everyone and earning the victories....and to me thats not fair. ill try to get ahold of unifiedtheory......if i cant....ill go ahead and get a vote on him being in the league or not. honestly....he can join back up if he figures out whats going on its cool to turn on the franchise and see 10 users....this thing has grown, and im excited about next season.....but like bpk said this season is in full swing, and its gunna get the attention it deserves. Playoffs are right around the corner baby!!!!!! and believe me alex, i want everyones opinion whether they just joined or not......i need help also, this is the first time ever i ran something like this so....we're gunna take our lumps! just hope ive been doing good enough that people are having a good time
I think if a person is making an honest attempt I am fine with extending it a day. For instance if he is just super busy with life and can play on tuesday after the deadline, I think that is cool.
The more games I play, the more evident it is to me that Detroit needs a total makeover in the offseason. Absolutely no speed on defense. On the Bengals only touchdown drive against me my defensive backs and linebackers dropped possible interceptions....SIX TIMES. All easy catches. On offense I cant run the ball the way my style of play goes because my backs have absolutely no speed, we can't protect the QB and Calvin Johnson is my only good receiver. Oh the life of a GM.
Spanked the Cowboys. I've become a much better passer than I used to be. I'm taking more risks. Also, I really miss Brandon Jacobs.
just killed tampa. deangelo williams with 168, 4tds delhomme witn 300 yards and 2 tds..... defense only gave up 1 td.....everything is coming together nicely
Played my game, and I am glad I played much better than my first and I stomped Denver. With that said does anybody ever feel like the AI starts cheating if you get close to pulling away. Case Point, I was up 17-7 in the fourth and Denver is driving. I get a user pick and then get hit hard immediately and fumble and Denver recovers. I challenge and get the ball back because I was down but then after driving to Denver's 25 I give Larry Johnson (every time I run with him I crack up) a breather and but in K. Smith. Run up the middle and I'm not doing any fancy moves but I fumble again and they recover. It's such B.S. Also the entire first half I'm pretty much shutting down Denver's defense and I'm up 10-0. Then right before half ends all of a sudden Orton is picking my defense apart (the same defense he couldn't figure out for the previous 13 minutes of the first half) to score a TD with one minute. It's like the cpu knew that since I got the ball back after half it had to atleast score something. But it's funny after the half I go back to shutting down their offense and getting like 2 picks and one for a TD. Sorry enough of a rant.

I just have a question, I noticed once I put in the franchise info no one had picked the Dolphins yet which seemed odd. Is there a particular reason for this?

Same, left our Beloved Phins as untouchable....late to the dance so I looked for the worst record (Browns) that would be the most fun to rebuild as e-Parcells . Cleveland Rocks and I will return them to NFL prominence/glory.
haha Yeah, I just didn't know if there was a rule that they couldn't be picked since the majority are Phin fans. I read through this thread to see but didn't make it all the way through. Then I thought, well maybe their low rating on there scared some folks off, but still a lot of high rated teams left and a lot picked lower teams. I doubt most people would pick the other AFCE teams so would also possibly face less human competition. The off-season would be funny because the Miami owner would be under the most scrutiny. I've only played with Miami since I got Madden (two weeks ago or so) but decided to leave them alone as well and grabbed Jacksonville. Won first game against Houston, looks like the last game of the season we get to play against each other BigDogs.

Jonathan Stewart with one of the greatest games of alltime in my division clinching victory on the road against new england......here is stewarts stats.... 9 carries 42 yards 4.6 ypc average 1 td 4 catches 49 yards 12.2 ypc avg 2 tds 2 solo tackles and a interception!!!!! the patriots were going no huddle and my corners were exhausted....so my backup running back comes in to sit on a cover 2 flat zone....and picks off tom brady. haha thing of beauty. 3 tds, 2 solo tackles and a pick. hahaha sacked brady 4 times. picked him off 3 times, including one for a td by richard marshall deangelo williams had a great game.....21 carries 84 yards 1 td....also 6 catches 108 yards and a td.... steve smith was also unreal....4 catches 49 yards and a td....also...5 carries 71 yards 14.2 avg delhomme....125 qb rating.....22/32 300 yards 4 tds 1 pick 13-0 baby!!!!! nfc south division champs!
