I'm looking at it right now, and he's ranked 16th. Olin Kreutz is ranked 33rd. The year before Joe Berger was ranked 13th, but he actually did really good considering he had half the snaps of a full time starter.
Not saying you are a liar my man but no way on the planet Earth is Joe Berger the 7th best overall center in the NFL, no way. Last I heard about a month ago he was ranked somewhere in the middle, 16th or 17th and know what ? IMO, that was even high. If someone really really ranked him at 7th then he is related to Joe Berger.

Going by Pro Football Focus, Incognito didn't do very well at Center. He had 139 snaps and managed a -2.4 overall.
Joe Berger finished 2010 as the NFL’s 16th best center according to PFF. Berger allowed two sacks, 11 QB pressures, and was penalized twice. this season Berger checks in 20th in run blocking (-0.8) amongst NFL centers, one spot ahead of former Dolphin Samson Satele, who is now in Oakland.
Berger was clearly a downgrade from what Grove was the previous year. I don't know what happened to Grove after that injury. My impression is that coaches got stuck with an unexpected downgrade. The coaches failure was in still trying to run the same run based offense with a C that wasn't as good at it. Then they over reacted and abandoned the run entirely. I don't blame the coaches for the line shuffling. I see it as something that happened to them, but I do think they reacted poorly to it.
it just goes to show that they need to reevaluate how they rate players if they think Berger is the 7th over all center in the NFL. Hell, I don't think he was the best center on the team. Probably 5th in the AFC East alone.
Exactly. Earth to Henning, come in Dan Henning. Justin Smiley isn't the LG anymore, and Incognito isn't a good pulling guard, so please stop calling Power O a thousand times per game. C'mon Man.
The Bears game screwed those stats big time. I can see that with 2 min to practice. How did he do at guard ? Thanks
Incognito is at #17, pretty equal on pass, run, and screen, few penalties, and a very solid season. Jerry was at #55, fair vs pass, horrible vs run. McQ was below him. One arm Jake finished at #2, 1st vs pass, and #6 vs run. Carey was at #25, 0.6 vs pass, and -0.3 vs run, about average or a bit below. In defense of the Berger #7 post, FA Kalil is there, and it was likely wishful thinking.
Thank You and as I thought and have been posting. The left side was not bad but the right side was a complete fail. Big reason why when a guard pulls and there is no hole to run thru nothing works. Plus when 2 out of 5 positions are in the lower part of the league, nothing works for the other three. Thanks again.
NP, Add in Ronnie going from #16 to #27 this past season. Add in Ricky going from #25 to #48, and a shocker for me, Polite going from #2 to #27. None of the three were the same player. Thank GOD for Fasano's blocking. If ya like, read the PFF grading on my D in Dolphins thread. I believe the grades are accurate.
