Just a guess for who I think is going to get the nod this year. R.Brown- coming back healty, I think he goes on a tear(wrong choice of words). I think he will do real well. Polite- Rex should have fun coaching a reaL FB in Hawaii. Marshall- the BEAST Long- 3 straight Wake- 15+ sacks Davis- only the beginning. he is special Fields- the white R.Roby notes: I didnt put Starks in there bc I think this line is going to be a very dynamic and Solai is going to take alot of time. I thinks Starks keeps up his level of play but I think it gets lost in all the comotion. any more nominations??
I think the first 4 are almost shoe in's. Long is the best in the league, Bell seems to be a guy that the players (the only voters who really count) like a lot and Dansby has the reputation that will get him there. Polite makes his way there if has the type of year he had in 2009, how he did NOT make it last year still bothers me. I think he is the best "all around" fullback in football. He is not the best pass catcher or the best runner but the fact he is head and shoulders above any one else that is a good runner of receiver at blocking, the real job of a full back, should get him there no problem. I think Davis has the potential but corners always seem to need a really good year and then they get in the following year. I think Marshall is almost a guarenteed Pro Bowler, as long as he gets his numbers of course and I think a 90/1,100/12 TD season stamps his ticket and he'll get those numbers here. The dark horse is Randy Starks. He should have gone last year. If we go 11-5/10-6 we'll have 6-7 Pro Bowlers, if we go 8-8 we'll have 3-4.
It'll depend on wins and losses. Davis, Marshall, Dansby and Long look to be the only ones who could make it regardless.
accolades mean nothing. could care less really. winning football games means more obviously so I'll give this one a whole bunch of it don't matter
And this post contributes how much to the thread? Exactly. Nothing. I say Ronnie, Brandon Marshall, Jake Long, Cameron Wake, and Karlos Dansby.I don't think VD is ready yet.
Who cares when everyone that is voted decides they dont want to play and alternates are voted in plus the stupid idea of having it the week before the Super Bowl. Pro bowl means crap now
I agree, to me it seems like the teams with multiple pro bowlers tend to not make the SB, when the Pats were good they seemed only to send a small handful of players to the pro bowl. San Diego used to send multiple players to the pro bowl. For the sake of the thread though, I'll give my darkhorse picks: -Vern Carey -Anthony Fasano -YBell Vern C because if we lead the NFL in rushing he will get his due. Fasano because to my mind, he will benefit the most by Brandon Marshall's presence YBell, cause he slipped in last yr and is probably the most underrated player on the phins roster, I expect Nolan to highlight Bell with blitzes this year the way Brian Dawkins was last yr in Denver.
Excuse me but come on guys show some respect to one of our reigning Pro Bowlers. Dan Carpenter! This guy has been money for us.
Jake Long (starter) Lousaka Polite (starter) Karlos Dansby Ronnie Brown Brandon Marshall Reserves: Yeremiah Bell, Vontae Davis, Dan Carpenter Randy Starks should have been a Pro Bowler last year without question, IMO. The only reason I'm not adding him to the list is due to position change. Let's see how that works out. If he stayed on the end I'd shoe him in... I think Vontae is a year away from being an "automatic pick" type year in, year out.
awesome avy change. i saw that picture yesterday and i thought to myself love the black helmet. glad you didnt choose this guy
