Mid 3rd round. I honestly think Jimmy wanted Dexter Coakley with that pick, but he went a few spots before Miami's pick.

Jordan is about 6'6 and 240 now. Taylor was about same in Feb 1997.

I don't know about that. I think at the same points in the process they are pretty equal.

That's my bouncing baby boy Phinsational. ;) He's right. We need more athletes rushing the passer. I think we need to do like the Giants used to do when they had 3 DEs and an OLB on their front 4 in the nickel.

Dion Jordan is a freak athlete Mr C..I don't think it's unfair to say that JT can't quite hang in that dept.

I'm gonna do something different and go with a bunch of value picks of guys who might slide. After all, if we're drafting BPA then we'll be taking some talented players who go lower than projected.

    1. DE, Ziggy Ansah
    2. TE, Tyler Eifert
    2. DE, Cornellius Carradine
    3. WR, Markus Wheaton
    3. RB, Andre Ellington (could use an explosive replacement if Bush goes)
    4. WR, Stedman Bailey
    4. CB, B.W Webb (compensation)
    5. LB, Devonte Holloman (safety-linebacker convert. Get our future WLB now so we can let Burnett go next year and afford to extend Dansby)
    7. CB, Tyron Mathieu
    7. OG, Omoregie Uzzi, Ga Tech

Not sure how Bailey and Webb both fall into round 4. That would be crazy.

I'd be surprised if they both slid but it's not outside of the realm of possibility. When one's a smaller receiver who runs about a 4.5 and the other is a less than ideal sized small school guy, anything's possible. Most people though Rishard Matthews was a 4th rounder and we got him in the 7th. Dwayne Allen didn't run a fast 40 and he slipped to the 3rd. Bailey doesn't have to fall out of favor so much as other guys could push themselves up with a good combine after a quality post season. I think B.W Webb could fall between two other small school, talented, similar sized corners, Lardarius Webb (3.24) and Buster Skrine (5.06).

If everyone goes where you think they're going then there wouldn't be a such thing as drafting for value. :p

Same with Tyrion M falling to the 7th. That's another Dennard if I've seen one. That'd be an amazing draft.

I'm just saying in coming out of Akron, JT was a freak athlete too.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Honey Badger goes undrafted. IMO, Dennard is better cover corner and he fell to the 7th off one transgression, whereas the Honey Badger is not only a serious pot head, but a dealer as well. I see multiple NFL suspensions in his future as much as anything positive on the field.

This kid can line up at corner, and finish at the QB on a blitz..I watched this one play Clean where he stiff armed the tackle to hold his edge, saw the screen into the flat, and literally exploded from a stationary position about five yards into the flat to make the open field tackle on the back...

    This kid can play low.

I had no idea he was caught dealing. Holy hell.

I just like Tyrion in the slot. Pure ballhawk, plus an extremely gifted return man

I think there was a recent article about Jordan where they admitted that his playing weight was more like 228 lbs. The article was about what he's doing to try and gain weight. I think he's up to a solid 240+ lbs right now though.

    You mean Tyrann Mathieu?

It's unclear whether he was dealing or not. If I remember correctly he was caught the most recent time (ironically like a week after a big Sports Illustrated story was written about him trying to get his life back together) because a buddy from the team had ran by security to get to Tyrann's apartment, and so they called the police. The guy who came over had like 5 bags of weed and there were 3 more bags in Mathieu's apartment, plus common dealer paraphernalia such as a digital scale.

Either way it's effing BAD. One thing if this guy just likes to smoke a joint every now and then. It's another thing if his NFL future is hanging on by a thin thread (which is where he was at, after being kicked off the team) and he's still doing dumb sh-t like that.

But even from a talent standpoint is he really any more than a smaller version of Javier Arenas? Good player, but I'm not sure I'd have paid more than 3rd round pick for him even if he had no skeletons in the closet. And as things stand, he's got an entire effing graveyard in his closet.

I wouldn't draft him at all. Sends a bad message to your team. It would be a distraction. I think you can get him in as a UDFA if you really want to take a chance on him, because he would be a little bit more under the radar as a UDFA than he would even as a 7th round draft pick. As a real draft pick he's pretty much guaranteed a contract, with guaranteed money, etc. Maybe he doesn't make it out of camp but he's forever attached his name to your draft class and there would be all kinds of stories about him and stuff like that. But as a UDFA, it really seals the image of him being an afterthought.

After all, how many non-Dolfans actually remember that the Dolphins took a gamble on Marcus Vick? Whereas, Cecil Collins was a 5th round pick, and I think that whole terrible episode is remembered a little more vividly.
