C/OG Daniel Kilgore, Appalachian State- Kilgore is going to impress. It’s as simple as that. He is very fluid and bends extremely well. His knee bend, flexibility, and speed will have the media wondering who he is? Well, we started to tell everyone in December so we hope people don’t start saying wow how come nobody has been talking about this kid because we have been! A 5.0 type 40-yard dash and even better than expected bench reps should have folks buzzing with talk of a 4th or 5th round selection and we want folks to know he has been considered a potential 5th round pick by some since November.

TE Julius Thomas, Portland State- Thomas could potentially run in the high 4.5 or sub 4.6 range while posting very good numbers in the 10-yard dash, 3-cone, and others to be named the most athletic all-around tight end in this year’s draft. His basketball background should intrigue folks as well and it would not shock us to see him vault into the top 100.

FS/CB Cortez Allen, The Citadel- Allen might be the biggest test freak of them all. According to sources, he is jumping over 40 inches, posting a 10 plus broad jump, 4.39-4.42 40-yard dash, and should do well in the 3-cone and short shuttle because of his ability to change direction so quickly. If those numbers hold up it would not surprise us to see someone take a flyer on him in the 5th or 6th round despite the bad senior tape.

SMALL SCHOOLERS EXPECTED TO BLAZE AT INDIANAPOLIS

Potentially a record six small school prospects could run in the 4.3s or better at the NFL Scouting Combine. Below is a list of those and where we think they will clock.

WR Joe Morgan, Walsh- Believe it or not Morgan could possibly light it up in other drills but the 40-yard dash is where he could potentially stand out as he has posted the fastest confirmed 40-yard dash time of any small school prospect in the 4.32-4.35 range on hand held clocks.

WR Ricardo Lockette, Fort Valley State- Lockette has ran in the 4.40 range before and we believe he will clock 4.3s making it a second prospect to break the 4.4 mark at Indy.

WR Edmond Gates, Abilene Christian- Gates is going to light it up in every drill but he ran a 4.42 barely knowing how to start last spring making us believe he will clock a 4.35, worst case. If he broke into the 4.2s it wouldn’t shock us at all.

Do not recall Joe Morgan doing that well at the Combine, do recall his name being called though.

Kilgore is a sleeper for us, he is wildly athletic.
