I would appreciate your prayers for my daughter. Last night she miss-stepped/fell and shattered her right ankle. She called and I left at the crack of dawn this morning and rushed 600 miles from NW Ohio to NW NJ to be with her. She had surgery to repair the break and insert pins, screws, and a plate to stabilize the structure. Hopefully she will now simply need healing and rehab time to get right again. Again, your prayers would be appreciated.
The nerve block held for nearly 24 hours and gave Kristin a good, restful day. Because she didn't get into her room until after midnight last night, they are letting her stay until Wednesday morning. She started PT and will have OT before she leaves. The pain is being well managed and things are looking pretty good. Morristown Medical center in NJ has been a first class experience. Thanks to everyone for the notes, prayers, and well wishes.
One of my daughter's parishioners has a large home and is making room for both of us to stay with her until I am no longer needed. For my daughter the bedroom and bath are all on the main level with wide doorways. Kristin's parsonage has all the bedrooms and the only bathroom up a nearly vertical staircase with narrow steps. (The home dates to the Civil War.) I will likely be in NJ through the weekend and?????? Thanks
Just seeing this now, Pastor Keith. United with all of you in prayer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Went to the doctor today. He likes the way she is healing. Problem is she needs painkillers and then has trouble riding in the car. Memo to self; travel with a bucket
Not religious, but I am the father of two little girls and I can imagine how that must feel. Neither of mine have been seriously ill or hurt yet, and I bet I'd be a total wreck if I were in your shoes. Best wishes to her and to your whole family, and I hope that she's fully healed and better soon. Kids seem to get over these things a lot better than adults do.
When she was a baby she needed hernia surgery. Toughest thing I did was hand her to the anathesiologist. She is now an adult but it is just her and me. She is an only child and since her Mom's passing we are exceptionally close. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers folks.
Just to update.....Kristin had the cast removed and is now cleared to start therapy and bear weight as is comfortable. Thanks for your support!
