Hi everyone,
I am going for a job interview today for a lateral transfer. As some of you know, my passion is working with students with emotional and/or behavioral disorders (EBD). I taught them for several years but I was taken out of that classroom and placed in a general classroom this year.

I really miss those students and since I am about to begin my research with these particular students for my dissertation, I was concerned that I would not be in the right work setting. I sent out a cover letter and resumes to different schools and got the same "we're not hiring but we'll keep your resume."

One of the principals contacted me yesterday and we spoke over the phone. He wants to meet me today at 3:30 and give me a tour of the school and discuss my options. His school is actually a center for students with EBD. It would be perfect for me to work there. It is a great school.

Problem is that that my school district is surplusing (reassigning to different schools due to low enrollment) teachers. I expressed my concern to this principal and explained that I am in a good place and would hate to be surplused. He assured me that I would not be surplused.

Please pray that if God wants me to be there, that He try to make it very clear to me. I'm not good with change; been at the same work site for over 10 years so that scares me. Any prayers would be appreciated.

Thanks and GB,
Raul

You got it, Rev! In specialty situations, moves are being made despite surplussing, and I feel very positive about your interview.:knucks:

I got to this at about the time you should be having your interview. You have my prayers and best wishes. May God use your gifts and your passions to help the "least in the Kingdom" and witness to His glory!

Just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers. I got the call today and was informed that I will be starting at the new school on the first day of school. God is indeed good!

Well, I guess the Bolded portion explains why you have put up with me these last couple of years. :hi5:

The more I think about this, the more I think that these prayers are answered as much for the unique kids and their parents as they are for you Raul.
You have constantly shown in here a truely good head on your shoulders and always come out the Moral Victor. (Hmmm... I recognize that name {Inside Joke}).

Let us know from time to time how things are going, I know this can not in any way, shape or form be an easy job. The fact you have done it before, and you still feel compelled to "Get back in the Ring" shows exactly your character and the integrity you personnafy.

Sorry, I didnt expand on my thoughts earlier, it's tough typing all this from a Cell Phone :wink2:

Thanks, Kenny.
The inside joke with teachers of students with EBD is that you have to be a little EBD yourself to work with these kids. I dunno why I like those kids so much, I just do.

Most people just run the other way. Not me. I love them. You have to be very patient as they will push every single button you have but in the end, the reward is well worth it. it's more satisfying to me to reach these kids then typically developing kids.

Please pray for me that I may be patient when I need to, firm when I have to be, but most of all...loving at all times.

You'll do fine. The Lord wouldn't lead you to anything He didn't know you could handle.
People like you are unique. I thank God that He puts the right people in the right place, at the right time.
All my prayers and thoughts are with you.
