My personal 2 rules of thumb on this board: - Listen to Section 126's scoops, they are right more often then they aren't. - Listen to DJ when he's talking about bodies and movement.
I remember when Section came on. Really good stuff. I think he initially caught some heat from folks on the board, IIRC. Forget what the hell his first post was all about.
I don't want to speak for DJ as I don't remember exactly how DJ worded his post, but I think he said that Pouncey would be back between weeks 1 and 4 (before the bye) in the regular season based off what he saw in a practice video where Pouncey was seen in the background doing drills. Something along those lines. This was a while back and I have no idea what thread it was in, but I remember seeing the post at the time.
that's about it Ro, there was some movement, balance and strength displayed in an exercise I saw that was a little too early in the process after such a surgery that got me excited, because all I was hearing was at least half the season if not more, and it didn't add up to me, week four at that latest is what I said...man could we use that boost, we'll see, lets hope. So we'll probably take the third option and take him off PUP and allow him to practice so he can learn the nuances of the scheme while getting physically ready, gotta do that by Saturday though..If we do it, which I believe we will, then there's a decent chance for a week 3 return. Our tackles, with Pouncey in the middle...shoot man..it could be like nite and day from last year.. Now all we gotta do is convince the staff to let Dion drop his excess weight and were good..lol
James Walker and Armando tweeted that he returned from a hip specialist in NYC to continue rehab at the Dolphins' facility. Said he hasn't been cleared to return to practice but is making progress. Still no word on him going on the PUP or not to start the season. I'll just say if it were me, I'd keep him on the 53 man roster and just have him as one of the inactive players on game day until he's ready. That's risky, but could prove fruitful, especially if Miami gets off to a slow start as I think he could be a kick-start vis a vis the running game.
Lol dj you have a gift for helping drive threads right into weird territory. Sent from my LG-MS770 using Tapatalk
Pouncey said about 3 weeks ago that he was well ahead of schedule and pushing to be released to play back then, so this was fairly inevitable. He desperately wants to play week 1 against the Patriots and it appears like he has the work ethic to make that happen.
Yes, Pouncey has been saying for some time he thought he could make it happen. Yet, DJ's information coming from an insider's view of a workout video added depth to that report. Thanks DJ for what you add to the information base of this site.
As below average as our offensive line has looked.. with Pouncey back that puts us to average.. we need him back.. though I'm still all for drafting his replacement if he doesn't show maturity after this season. Enough with the antics and start acting like a professional.
It's hard to measure the impact of going from a significantly below center to one of the top center's in the game. I'm optimistic that this OL good be decent with Albert, Pouncey and improvement in the G situation. James seems to be an upgrade in pass pro, not so much in run blocking. At the very least, we should be able to give RTH more confidence and Wallace more time to get open. That should translate into more points.
