Once Green Bay is knocked out of the playoffs, i hope we go after Tom Clements. Clements has spent the last five seasons as the QB coach for the Green Bay Packers. He has 18 years worth of coaching overall, including two seasons as an OC. In Green Bay, Clements has been responsible for grooming Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers went from a system QB in college, that caused his draft stock to slip, to now one of the best QBs in the NFL. All under the watchful eye of Clements. Before Green Bay, Clements was the OC in Buffalo for the 2004 and 2005 seasons. He increased Buffalo's scoring and improved the pass blocking greatly (from 51 sacks given up to 38 in his first year). He also led Kelly Holcomb to break Jim Kelly's season completion percentage record. That's right folks, he helped KELLY HOLCOMB break a Jim Kelly record. Before Buffalo, he was the Pittsburgh Steelers QB coach from 2001-2003. That included coaching up Tommy Maddox to be the NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2002. Clements has a good track record. He has gotten good things out of poor QBs and he has developed a QB with potential into a great QB. This is the type of guy the Dolphins need as an OC. A guy who has proved he can call plays, develop schemes and, most importantly, can develop and coach his players. He has been at Green Bay for a long time so he may not want to leave, but once the Packers are out of the playoffs Stephen Ross needs to give Tom Clements a call and see if he can convince Clements to leave.
I think Green Bay is gonna come into the Dome and pay Atlanta back for that regular season game. If so we could be waiting a while.
I don't disagree with anything you said above but it would be a deviation from the offenses Sparano has run. The West Coast offense is quite different from the Coryell offenses we've favored here. I haven't kept up with the interviews but it seemed to me that we've been looking at Coryell types. Now Sparano did use a run and shoot before in college so who knows what he really prefers.
This. Green Bay is going to the Super Bowl. They are my favorite to win it all. I would love to see someone like Clements over here.
I really see Atlanta getting them again. Agree with the OP and here with you though. Clements would be a great guy for this job.
yeah me too. everyone's on the green bay bandwagon but they failed to impress me against philly. i think atlanta is the more complete team
I think that's a great observation, though I also see Atlanta defeating GB - the Falcons are a very tough beat in that idiotic dome that they play in (I HATE Dome Stadiums with every fibre of my being!). But, alas, I doubt Mr. Sparano has the willingness to go to a true WCC offense (I know that Chilly ran it at Philly - but he's not nearly as pure-bread WCC as the Green Bay folks have been). I would love it however. I really don't like and have grown so weary of the offensive identity (or lack thereof) that Miami has had the past 15 years.
i think so too... if ryan grant and finely was healthy then GB might be favored in my books but starks is pretty inconsistant and i dont see him having another game like that against ATL
ya i read somewhere that this year in the NFL there was 47 5 WR set formations throughout the season and GB had 44 of them lol
I picked GB to win it al against the Chargers this year and I'm sticking with them. Now is the time to turn it on. I hope they can. I would love that coach as our OC.
Everyone thinks i'm ******ed when I tell them ATL will win this week. Its like some people completely forgot that they are even in the playoffs. Lets go Falcons!
i like the Pack as well .... would like them even better if the game was outdoors ..... i see the PACK vs the PATSIES in the SB
Like I said, Green Bay coming back in the Dome for some payback. Looks like your hopeful interview is gonna have to wait bro.
We should try to lure the oc from Baltimore. He looks like he knows what he is doing. He would lead us to the promised land.
