Well, end of yr means end of careers in some places: Ahh, no surprise about Porter, Rogers was expendable after Ahtya Rubin emerged as a force at NT. There will be others, would not surprise me to see a certain #99 on this list in a short while.
Brownies have a long list of players on the chopping block/won't be resigned as they are moving to a 4-3 http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2011/02/cleveland_browns_facing_more_r.html Of them, the only names of interest to me are: -Matt Roth dude had 77 tackles as a SOLB -LG Eric Steinbach Now the reality is Roth probably won't sign in Miami, though both sides have kept things civil and did not air what actually happened out in public.
I liked Woods two yrs ago when he was with the patriots, but if the Bills are waiving him I'd guess he just never developed.
Rotoworld injected their nonsense into that one, DLee, if healthy, would be a fine #2 Te. Havner is interesting because he can also play FB and Linebacker and is good on Special Teams.
Hmm, how could his tank be empty when he has so few carries overall? Could be he is a bad fit for the Cowboys blocking scheme and decline in Oline play? Maybe he is OJ Anderson like?
Sooner or later, even Dan Snyder will have enough of his deplorable behavior, and he will sign somewhere and he will have a great yr and land one more huge contract, which has been his goal all along imo. Fat Albert is gaming the ownership in the NFL.
Caution on this one, Jim Irsay is sort of nutty, Sanders was looking at a pay cut from his 5.5 million dollar salary, so maybe things were not going to work out so they waived him, or not. 9 games in 3 yrs, Sanders will more than likely sign a "Show me" deal somewhere. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/18/colts-working-on-deals-for-vinatieri-sanders-too/
Would be no surprise, RG is relatively easy to fill, and 6 millie for a player who is not performing makes no sense.
The Cowboys ended up averaging just 2.0 yards per carry while running behind right guard. Due to make $6 million in each of the next three seasons, Davis is an extremely poor bet to finish out that contract. ******************************************************************************** http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol had Dallas at 4.18 yards per rush behind mid/right guard 11th in the Nfl average yards behind the mid/right guard plus they ran 51% of the time behind mid/right guard left end-13% of the time left tackle-14% right tackle-17% right end-5% We ran behind our all pro left tackle...8% of the time and mid/guard our weakest offensive line positions 64% of the time
I think this was somewhat predictible, high priced vets with injury issues are just not going to stick on rosters. As for Shockey to the Dolphins..not sure, would like him..at the right price. And it would free up draft picks.
http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/26431/report-patriots-kaczur-headed-for-split Now he may be of interest, he is not a great RT, but as a LG?
Jerome Harrison is an intriguing Running Back to consider, he had a nice late season run in Cleveland 2yrs ago, fell out of favor with Mangini and was given away to the Eagles, he is a low level FA whom the Eagles did not consider worthy of even a late rd tender. Tim Shaw is a beast of a Special Teams player, one of the few who can make our roster on his ST value alone.
