isnt there a fixed amount of money for practice squad members , i think i read some years ago it was like 5000 $ per week
Sparano was really talking up Benny Sapp the other day, saying how much more comfortable he is in the system relative to starting in the middle of the year last year, he is the younger of the two between he and will allen, so I guess with that, and wills injury stuff, it was 1 vet, not both..wilson and carroll round out the top 5 I suppose..Thats not deep imo, and extremely young as a unit.. With the departure of Pennington, will allen, ronnie and ricky, we must now have the youngest roster in the league...gotta be top 3.
I'm ok with creating new threads. Sometimes these threads become a bit cumbersome when they're early. Especially for folks who haven't read them yet. - sent from my EVO 3D via Tapatalk -

A lot of times, one move comes with another. The team has access of other team's cuts which we do not. I'm gonna wait for the smoke to clear before being upset or happy.
Why? Because he finally got healthy enough to have 5 nice plays in the last preseason game. I like Allen too, but he's missed too much time to be counted on. Remember last year when he said he would have been ready to go by week 4. Then he comes back and misses most of training camp a year later.
Nope. No way I believe that. You do not "redshirt" your 3rd OT and a player certain to be active every game if healthy. He must have a legit injury that would prevent him from playing for 6-8 weeks at least.
I didn't mean there was no injury, just that if he is out 8 weeks, whats the sense of bringin him back, just IR him , rehab him him, then strengthen him.
OK, but the way I see the term "redshirt" used, it comes across to me as applied to a developmental player with some phantom injury who goes on IR for year. Sort of deal like: 'hey did ya hear about Murtha? He got injured and went on IR. Know what I mean? Nudge nudge. Wink wink. Say no more." Anyway, we both agree that Murtha going on IR means a legit injury that would have kept him out for multiple weeks anyway.
