So, don't expect Polite to be angry that he wasn't a Pro Bowl selection but is an alternate.

Dolphins players voted left guard Justin Smiley as their 2009 Ed Block Courage Award winner. Smiley came back from a broken leg that ended his 2008 season after 11 games and from offseason shoulder surgery. He reinjured the shoulder this season and played through it the past few games.
Polite is just such a great guy to have on the team. He is good at what he does, and from statements like that you can tell he's not in it just for the accolades. That's the kind of people you build a champion with.
And as far as Smiley. Yeah, he's a great player, but I just wish he wasn't so brittle. The guy needs to drink some milk or something in the offseason, christ.

But numbers don’t tell the story. Both are excellent blockers, but Polite had a role in Miami’s Wildcat scheme. And nobody was better than Polite on third-and-one and fourth-and-one situations; he’s a perfect 15-for-15 over the past two years.
Most importantly, the Dolphins needed Polite to play an expanded role when Ronnie Brown went down and he’s done just that.
