If Naanee is cut that leaves Marshall as the only player left from free agency. Ireland is going to go down with the ship with at least a couple of his guys. But if you noticed, Naanee was not in the game alot in the second half.
A lack of effort on his part to go after the ball caused that first INT imo. I feel bad for Ryan ... he played a lot better than his stat line today
I think the coaches already reacted. I didn't see Naanee in the 2nd half and there were no injuries reported. Hartline is clearly back and Armstrong at least got seperation, though the timing seems to be an issue.
Do you start Armstrong and have him as a deep threat or do you start Matthews and have Hartline running the deep routes? My preference right now is Armstrong.
Got toasted pretty regularly, was in over his head on one on one, displayed little awareness and ball ski ... oh, you meant Brandon Marshall. The Marshall we don't have. He did good.
I thought that too. It made me think of the comment Sherman made about taking guys out of the last preseason game that they knew weren't going to make the team. The passing game was a lot better with Hartline in and Naanee out. Hopefully Gaffney is a Dolphin and Naanee is not tomorrow.
Mike Williams is also looking tough today. Another guy we could have taken a flyer on, but didn't (we ended up missing on Graham and Williams, at least).
There's no way that Naaneee gets cut this week. He's now on a fully guaranteed salary - they'll keep him around for a while. He clearly should have been cut when the roster was dropped from 90 players.
Naanee did jack in his playing career before he became a Phin. Did nothing in pre-season and had every Dolphin fan screaming from rooftops saying cut him. Did nothing today to help Tanny or the team in general. Can anybody in the Phins coaching not spot a lame duck????
With 4m in cap space IIRC, I don't see how we address this problem. I don't see Plaxico taking that already.
Hopefully. This could be similar to the Sapp/Allen thing last year. Sapp got his salary for the season by playing in week 1, then was replaced by Allen. The difference though is Sapp was a scapegoat and Naanee just sucks.
Naanee has been absolutely useless. Tannehill's only 2 passes to Naanee were intercepted. Just sayin'.
I voiced my displeasure the day we signed him. He wasn't any good last year. Hope he isn't the new Reggie Howard...a player that sucks but stays around. Sent from my Samsung Epic 4G using Tapatalk.
I am sure that Philbin realized that Naanee sucks, he was barely on the field in the 2nd half. I guarantee there will be a roster move re: Naanee this week.
Ernest Wilford, Erik Walden, Brandon London, Jason Allen, the entire 2007 roster, Pruitt, Wallace...we have recent examples.
Jason Allen made a couple plays. None of those other guys were starters. Howard was the starting nickel.
I was on for drafting Alshon and wanting to sign Garcon, who had a big catch for the Skins today. Anyone know how Vincent Jackson did this week?
Here's to the coaching staff realizing Naanee is a bum and actually going with the youth movement starting Rishard Matthews next week.
While I get your point, Jonathon Martin wasn't that bad today from what I recall, and that's against a pretty damn good DL
I am afraid Naanee stays on the roster and waste space because he should have been cut prior to game one. At least you wouldn't have to guarantee his salary. Chalk another one up for Ireland. I don't think you find a veteran. You could sign a guy like Gaffney, but I wouldnt mind a kid like Borel. I definitely want to see Matthews.
