I have been a Vive owner/part-time user for months. I think the tech is super cool. But VR games are generally super thin. Playstation's headset is in the hands of media outlets and reviews are coming out. http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/10/05/playstation-vr-review https://techcrunch.com/2016/10/05/review-the-playstation-vr/ https://www.cnet.com/au/products/sony-playstation-vr/review/ I also watched Giantbomb's live stream today. It does look to work well visually, but Sony's decision to use old Playstation Camera tech for tracking may be a bad one.
Definitely not getting one right away, but I do hope it succeeds. I frankly need to get contacts still so that using my Rift is less of a chore.
I tried it in Eve: Valkyrie and I had trouble focusing on stuff in the distance. For close up stuff, yea it is not much of an issue at all. If I wore contacts, 3D movies (at home) would be less of a nuisance for me too, so it isn't all VR related, though it would still be a hobby driven change.
