They have had three years to do that, and its a shambles. Its not fun being a DolFan these last 5 years. They are really testing their fanbases loyalty.

They've been able to build absolutely zero depth on the oline in three years. Even worse is that the starting Oline overall is not as good as last season.

With the way Buffalo is playing right now, I think the only win we might have left is against Detroit, and that is no given. We could be 5-11 and not even bad enough to get one of those QB's in the 1st round. And I think Sparano will be stubborn and stick with Henne and so we will have to endure yet another rebuilding starting in 2012.

Hmm, how do you know that until we play the Raiders? They tried to play Long with a bad arm, now they have to adjust, how they adjust is how well they manage the situation.

Ain't it the truth Muscle. They have done a really p*ss-poor job and those that think they have done well, just look at KC and look how far they have come in just 2 short years.

It would give you a shot at a top SOLB though. Maybe trade down again and continue to improve the youth on defense. It's not what fans are looking for but maybe just maybe it's the defense that must improve to something on another level that can for years on end carry the team.

They're not close to a top unit on offense. Too many players away...

    Defense they might have something.

I don't think Long's bad arm was the sole reason the line was a disaster last Thursday. They could redeem themselves to a degree next weekend but Thursday may have been the worst I have ever seen a professional offensive line play. That is a lack of depth. They don't have to be great but the rest of the offense never had a chance.

Padre, I understand your loyalty bro, but c'mon, look at last Thursday night. You think they can clear that up in just a week, and with scrapheap backups they just signed in the middle of a season, that were not even on a practice squad ????

They are funadamentaly better than we are. Yes they haven't played the schedule we have, but just look at the team execution. They look like a NE clone (which they should given their co-ordinators and HC). We look like a bad clone of the Wanny days Dolphins.

I guess we shall see, there have been no scrap heap Olinemen signed, and I saw the Jets look terrible at home as well.

They are what, 2-3 at home including a shutout, if this is no longer fun for you, then why are you still doing it?

I'm merely waiting for the next game to see what Sparanos level of competence in developing Depth has been, with a solid week to go, with all of the whinning over a tough loss, I'm not quite sure if I have the energy to do so.

Even you allusions are off base, do you ever, even once, think Wanny would play a game and run the ball 7 times?

Folks act as if Sparano should have planned for Proctor shredding his knee in the 1st qtr, he was the "depth".

Anywho, how those problems are handled will tell us a lot about Tony Sparano's time in Miami, a good coach can indeed take scrap heap players and start them and win ball games..if they have the skill to do so.

The Jets have only lost two games all season. So they're definitely not 2-3 at home. Looking terrible occassionally is OK. Being 1-4 at home and getting stomped a couple of times there in primetime is not as OK.

LOL, give me a break. The Chiefs are a good, up-and-coming team but I'm pretty confident we could beat them. One bad, injury riddled loss and people have jumped off the ledge. We're still a team that has a lot of talent on both sides of the ball.

I can't wait until next week so we can get back on the field in Oakland and put together a nice game like I know we can.

At this point I'd be shocked if Berger and Henne don't play. Henne looked pretty good running and throwing passes in warmups last Thursday. I'd have to think if he COULD have played then he would be good to go 10 days later.

Including a shut out 2 losses or 3.

Point being they have not looked great at home it is not keeping them from making a playoff run.

Which is what this thread is supposed to be about, have you even bothered to see where we are in the playoff chase?

Well the Raiders have gone to 5-5 so have the titans, the Jags moved to 6-4 so they have a lead on us, but we beat the Raiders, we break our tie with them and gain the head to head advantage over them and the Titans.

    Texans went to 4-6

Right now, we do need the Pats to beat the Colts and the Broncos to beat the Chargers on MNF.

The Titans win is a good example of why in Conference games matter more than out of conference ones, if we lost to them, but beat the Bears, the Titans would still own us for the WC race.

At this point, let's be honest here, if those games matter then we will have won 2 games in a row, something we have not done since the first 2 games.

Beat the Raiders, Beat the Browns, 7-5 when we play the Jets, then Bills and Lions, I will not claim we win all of those games I will say we should be in all of them.

THAT is why I'm not ledge climbing just yet muscle, VT is right all is not lost..yet.

    The real problem is:

    w/w/l/l/w/l/w/l/w/l

We have alternated losses, if we are to make a serious run we have to go on a streak.

But before that can happen, Sparano and his little elves have to get that Oline straightened out, which is why I'm watching the Oline moves like a hawk.

We are at least 2 games behind plus tiebreakers of 4 of the best teams in football (ne, nyj, Pitt, bal). We need to basically win out and have one of those teams totally collapse. It's not going to happen. Let's not be delusional

    You're smarter than that pad.

If you need to cling to the slimmest of playoffs hopes to get you through the season then keep on hoping. There's a lottery jackpot type chance you'll be right.

But in the land of probability, also known as reality, it ain't happening

    Nope your wrong....

A loss next week does not all but eliminate us if we win all of the other games. We would have a 50% chance of making the playoffs...

    Honestly?

This Raiders game is still a must win because we have 3 ducks on the pond in Cleveland, Buffalo, Lions, the teams with winning records Raiders, Jets and Pats are really the season if we have to win out to make the playoffs.

And strategically speaking, we have to put the Raiders in the rear view mirror as well as find out if Sparano knows what he is doing when it comes to the Oline, another 6 sack performance and we should all find other things to do because we would be a 8-8 team at best.

The Raider game is a huge sign post game for the 2010 season.

Colts are mounting a comeback, for us, this game is somewhat irrelevant, if the colts win the AFCS it makes no difference to the dolphins playoff fortunes.

Would help the Jets out if the Colts won, maybe help ours as well, but that is a bit to arcane to worry about at the moment.

I wouldn't exactly call Cleveland or Buffalo "ducks on the pond" at this point. Both of them are capable of beating us, and historically, we've struggled against the Browns.

Also, for your other post, wouldn't we need the Colts to beat the Pats to bring them back down to us? The Pats are a Wild-card at this point due to tiebreakers.

2-8, 3-7, 2-8, if you want to make the playoffs you have to mop those games up.

I think we are looking at the #2 WC slot, so the Ravens or Steelers are our main competition the way I see it.

They play each other again and the Ravens have a game with the Browns that I have my eye on.

    Per Tim Graham.

Now what chuckle head is missing is Miami is a better road team than home team, so playing easier opponents at home is a benefit, playing the final three tougher opponents on the road is not the detriment he is attempting to make it out to be.

This is a part of the reason why BSPN is a waste of time.
