Something happened when this was uploading....

First and foremost....this isnt a "I think we win the next 6" type of thread...anymore than it is a "We dont have a chance" type of thread.

This is a week to week look where we stand from a matter of fact view point.

Right now at 5-5 the Miami Dolphins have a 91% chance of missing the playoffs all together based on tie breakers.

If we win in Oakland, that percent drops to 84% chance of no playoffs.

If Miami wins all of its remaining 6 games....we only have a 7% chance of not making the playoffs.

At this point....Miami cannot clinch a playoff spot under any scenario this week...nor will the be eliminated under any scenario.

If Miami wins 6 of the Next 6 games....we have a 93% chance to make the playoffs.

We have a 1% chance of being the top ranked Divsional Winner
We have a 6% chance of being the second ranked Divisional Winner
We have a 5% chance of being the third ranked divisional winner
We have a less than 1% chance of getting the 4th divisional winner spot

We have a 44% chance of getting the first WC seed
We have a 38% chance of getting the second WC seed....

If Miami wins 5 of the next 6 games...we have a 50% chance of making the playoffs
We have a 1% chance of getting any of the first 4 spots
We have a 10% chance of getting the #5 spot, and a 39% Chance of getting #6

Please dont post anything about..."forget playoffs...yada yada yada..."

Sigline worthy, we play a 5-5 Raiders team next week, and some of our rivals will lose this week, keep plugging.

Well, before we start thinking playoffs a lot of other very important things have to fall into place first. Most notably the draft, free agency, training camp,pre-season games, a productive 16 games. Then maybe we can,in all honesty, start thinking playoffs. Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. It`s still a long way off. :glare:

Well...

Actually your wrong. We are starting "our" playoffs in week 12. Thus...

Thank you so much....for taking the three mile approach to telling us all how we have not shot.....even after I asked people not to do such....

i'll wait til after next week .... to see who we line up and how much improvement, if any, the offense brings .... it doesn't look to promising right now; 5-6 would finnish it ....

I think that there are some coaches who could take the talent on the Miami roster and coach them into the playoffs. Unfortunately none of them work in Miami. I hope we just get to 8-8 or better at this point. They'll have to win every AFC game remaining to have any realistic shot. So the playoffs start next weekend vs. Oakland.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into the percentages of us making the playoffs. But, I just have a hard time believing we have ANY shot at all with this team this year.

Divine intervention.

Headcoach material wouldn’t want to work somewhere they’re not trusted with actual football decisions.

"How do we get there?"

I'm assuming our players can get there by car or plane..... or even bus if they prefer a day or 2 to introspect. :shifty:

First things first, we have to beat the Raiders if there is one lesson from this season is this Dolphins team cannot look past any opponent.

Start with getting Henne back. Thigpen isn't going to win road games against the Jets and Pats.

First things first, they have to get the Center and Left Tackle issues ironed out, it will not matter who is back at Qb if those are not fixed.

honestly, as optimistic as a guy i am and my love for the fins and all, i just don't see us in the playoffs this year unfortunately.

if we had run the table and gone 12-4, then ya we would have made it. however, being the best we can go is 11-5 now, their is a solid chance we wouldn't get in with that record due to tiebreakers. its a shame because i truly thought at the beginning of the year that we were going o make the playoffs and had a good solid team. however, i feel let down like i am year after year with this team and im stressed about it.

and if Henne can lead us to that raider win, then it is our last hope before we go GM'n Pod.

Keep in mind, Beast may be out for the Raider game, that means Wallace or Moore step up and play.

This is a real test for Sparano, Thigpen or Henne, the pieces around them have to be prepped correctly or we see a replay of the Bears game.

If they're not gonna make the playoffs, at least beat the Jets.

Seem our only hope is Wildcard. Jets are closing in on 8 wins, Patriots are likely to win, not guaranteed though. Dolphins would have to win out and hope the Jets lose to 3 AFC teams aka suffer a 2008 style collapse. Lightning doesn't usually strike twice. However, the wildcard might be better anyway, just hope the Dolphins can get the 5th seed to face the AFC West team haha. Still doubt it though.
