I just got done isolating Collie on tape against Arizona. I liked what I saw. He ran a very sharp out route with a great one hand finish early in the game. One of the first plays I watched was Max Hall has no open receivers, he scrambles to the far right and Collie is coming back to him for the grab. I liked that, a lot actually. He's thrown some nice blocks, redirecting defenders. He lined up in the ever-famous 'Wildcat' formation and ran through a Safety, got up and start talking trash. Next play, he is in motion, receives a screen and instead of going straight out of bounds for a couple yard gain, he takes a few licks - including one when he's out of bounds and gains the extra yards. He's tough, very confident and looks to have soft hands. At first, I felt that he lacked the initial quickness off the line but later, he looked good. I also loved the blurb about him calling Max Hall every day, asking him to go workout and get better. Reminded me a bit of Welker and Drew Bennett mixed. Or Anthony Gonzalez. For whatever reason, I didn't record the 3rd and 4th quarter of the game, who knows what might've happened but I'm missing those parts lol but that's what I got from the first half of the game.
Who do you guys compare Collie to? I said my thoguhts earlier and I'm thinking he's similar to Anthony Gonzalez.
He doesn't have the speed or quickness of Gonzalez. I suppose he could be another Brandon Stokley type. Wayne Chrebet. That sort of guy. He certainly runs excellent routes.
I heard alen's analysis on this guy, so I have to ask you Boomer, what's your opinion on Frantz Joseph?
