Well, the 5 FA names to watch thread had gotten huge, so this one should be for players who will be waived this offseason that Dolphins Fans honestly think can contribute in 2011.

Sharper is interesting as he still makes plays, but he looked slow this yr, how much of that was his offseason microfracture surgery remains to be seen.

I like Shockey, but he has a large piehole and has been injured frequently as his career winds down, however if we are looking for a #2 Te, to me he would make a good Candidate.

Jeremy Shockey would be a nice pickup.

    Reunited with Chudzinski, perhaps.

TBH, I'd really like to see them add some veteran players to the offensive mix, I think one of the problems in 2010 was no Veteran leadership, Shockey would be overpriced, but he would add a lot to the mix, especially in terms of Confidence.

I would Deej, Shockey for certain, he has more balls than 90% of our offensive players.

A Young Offense needs guys like that, like Gonzalez going to Atlanta.

I'm not sure Shockey is better than Fasano currently, but he's definitely better than any #2 we had this or last season.

My thinking exactly, and imho Shockey is still a better Receiver than Fasano.

"If" the Panthers waive Travele Wharton, he is another player we'd have to sniff around, a plug and play Guard would be a real help.

I've seen like every Saints game the past 2 years that wasn't on the same time as the fins, and I really can't see it. Equal, maybe (and even then, I'm not sure).

To me Shockey has better hands than Fasano, he is more likely to make the difficult catch, could be wrong of course.

Thing with Shockey though, 4.25 million is Vince Young money, so he'd have to be a Free Agent signing, unless Ross just says "screw it" and opens the checkbook.

My concern with Shockey would be durability. I would pass on Sharper he is done.

I was one of the few dissenting voices on this board when Sharper was available this past off-season.

I said it then and I'll say it now- Beware of guys in the late stages of their career that have renaissance seasons. It usually doesn't repeat itself (also see Brett Favre).

why would you think of sharper when Nnamdi
Asomugah and champ Baily wanting to go to fs is out there?

and why touch shock when we can make fasano our number two and pick up zach miller or mecedes lewis in Fa>?

I'm on the fence about signing Shockey, but I do know this. Shockey is hands down a better TE, than that slow as molasses in January, Jersey meatball, Anthony Fasano. Fasano should never be a starting TE on any team.
