I'm sure people are going to run with this one. Too bad the same thing didn't happen to the hundreds who undoubtedly prayed aboard the jets that hit the Towers.
"...and in the distance you see The Rev taking hold of this story and running with it." How did I know Brother Pagan would weigh in on this on.
You know me well Rev. No offense to any of the Christian finfans...but I just find it amusing that these stories even get press. The über-faithful will always point to stories like this and claim it's proof of God's work, yet they fail to point out the times - which VASTLY outnumber stories like this - where no amount of prayer on the planet diverted disaster. For every one story like this, I could list hundreds that didn't have such warm and fuzzy results. I mean come on...of COURSE God didn't have time to save those in the earthquake in China or the cyclone in Burma....he had to save two Kiwi pilots in a microlight! Which leads me to one logical conclusion....AMAZING coincidence!
Wow Jesus really does save people and then uses Christian propoganda to really hammer home his point. Awsome!!!
Let's see, how do I weigh in on this one???? Let me just say, I'm happy they are OK and no one was hurt. With a little giggle, I find the irony delicious!
I dont want to open a can of worms or start a huge discussion or anything, but why cant you just let people feel good about the story? If you dont believe in God then chuckle to yourself a little and leave it be.
I know you aren't talking to me but why can't you feel good even when others disagree with you/or the point of the story? If you do believe in God then chuckle to yourself a little and leave it be. It's the same thing.
Because it never ceases to amaze me when stories like this pop up and people defy all logic just to "feel good". You can just chuckle and continue to feel good, no?
