    Interesting thinking on "if" the eagles hire Spagnoulo and whether or not the Wide 9 will be kept.

    I'm not a big fan of the wide 9. I can see how it would increase the pass rush if you have fast, athletic DEs, but I wouldn't use it as my base. I still prefer my defense to be more stout up the middle. Maybe if I had a ridiculously good DT/MLB combo or in very obvious passing situations, though.

    I like it, but think it should be situational and not Base D, it limits what you can do a bit to much.

    The upside is, in a "passing league" you take away some of the advantages the offense has on passing on 1st down when you run the W9.

    Never a fan, and never understood why they call it the "wide" 9. If you're a wide 9 you're a 10-technique.
