They've got very little to lose so go for it. He's proven in the past he can do some good (and questionable) things with the football in his hand when returning kicks/punts.

Can't hurt. Better than Cobbs running right into a mob of tacklers of every time. But unless our blocking gets any better I don't see too much of a difference.

like Ginn or not, Ginn is not a person that is comfortable getting hit, and that is a problem on return duties. he should not be back there imo.

It didn't prevent him in college or in the NFL when he had good returns that were negated by Derek Hagan's or Charlie Anderson's penalties.

Not true Ginn has dropped 5 passes last two games not three.
On Monday night he dropped two in the endzone and another one when Pennington hit him between the numbers that wold have been a first down.
He then followed that in the next game with 2 drop passes from Henne and a false start. Might as well put him back there is not like he is doing anything else on the field, well besides dropping balls.

Probably a good choice for the team, but if we dont get any better blocking out there, I dont know how much its going to matter. Rarely does it seem our returners even have a chance to get past the 25

Wow! It's about freakin' time.! I don't understand why they haven't been doing this from the beginning. That's one of his strengths, his speed.:wink2: When he's had the chance, he's done really well. I love Bess as a receiver, but aren't they tired of it always being 10-15yds then down. I was wondering how long we would have to see that before someone decided to make a change. Thank God they have finally come to their senses.

Yes, yes they would have. (imo)

If we make this move, which I hope we do, we need to leave him back there all year. Unless he just does awful for like 4 games. And I mean awful, not below average, cause our blocking is obviously terrible. I can't stand how we tentatively run him out there sometimes, it's just disgusting. How is a player supposed to become better and gain confidence when it's so damn obvious that there isn't any? We just need to designate him as the guy, and see how he does. If he fails, then look elsewhere, but don't keep playing this damn maybe game. Give him a substantial chance.

Just because the ball is thrown to him and he doesn't catch it, doesn't constitute them as drops. I think people honestly set have their expectations of Ginn as "if the ball is deemed even 1% catchable, he should come down with it." He has catch percentage on par with guys like Fitzgerald and Johnson, I don't see why people complain so much.

I think you're forgetting the good he brought in Indianapolis, 7 catches on third and forth down that gave us a first down apparently means jack**** to you.

I think so. Many of those penalties from what I remember were away from Ginn's running. He would run east and the penalties occurred west. In other words, whether he blocked the opposition or not, it wouldn't have mattered; it'd still be a touchdown IMO.

I think he's tired of the bashing of Ginn. It gets repetitive.

I feel like I'm repeating myself over... and over... and over again. :pity:

0-3 really doesn't bother me as much because we lost to good teams... and we didn't really get blown out by any means.

It's the unwarranted constant bashing of specific players that gets me.

A player drops balls he drops balls, it happens.

As for Ginn returning kickoffs...only if our ST blocking can create a crease for him, otherwise Ginn will head out of bounds.

I have to admit, Ive never been a fan of drafting Ginn. But Ive always wanted him to succeed despite that. He has impressed me at times. But he needs to come through in the clutch. As does the rest of the damn team.

    -my 2 cents

The guys who compile stats for a living, have him at 2.

    http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/leaders.asp?range=NFL&type=Receiving&rank=232

Just because it hits you in the hands doesn't mean it counts as a drop. If the QB throws it behind you and you make a remarkable play just to get your hands on it, is it a drop? No.

Reasonable effort is the standard. The balls by Henne were badly thrown. He could have caught them, but I was there in the end zone, right behind Henne. Great view. THey were not decent passes.

The bashing will stop when Ginn makes it stop.....he followed up the Colts game by disappearing vs SD other than costing us 5 yards on a illegal procedure call.

    Those first downs?....so what?

Easily forgotten when he let the game winner go thru his hands.....at this point, you guys aren't defending Ginn, you're making excuses, which only magnifies things on here....

He plays soft, which is why he lost the KR job.......which is why he's on the hot seat and why he's due the criticism.

Comments like this are just dumb, and why I can't stand it when people bash Ginn for random stuff. Since when is he on the hotseat? And when has a coach or player ever said anything about Ginn lacking effort? By all accounts, he's one of the hardest working players on the team. You go out there and run deep routes as hard as you can all day with a QB that you know won't get you the ball.

Do you have inside access knowing that Ginn is on the hotseat?

Our special teams blocking was terrible when Ginn was out there. It was terrible when Cobbs was put out there that same game. It's improved a little bit, but Cobbs doesn't show much by running straight into a pile of defenders when it comes to return abilities.

How are we making excuses? We're putting rational reasonings on the table to your guys irrational statements. It's that simple.

Sorry but I don't have any magical powers to make you see and understand things as they are.......and once again, excuses being made for him.

Irrational?.......sorry but the only ones being irrational are the ones defending the guy.

It's not like I'm making stuff up.......the guy plays soft, he's scared of contact, goes down easier than any player I've ever seen, he generally makes no extra effort to make a catch and if contact is involved forget it...

But you guys always have some kind of excuses lined up ready to protect him.....

He didn't lose the KR job for no reason.....and he's not getting bashed to death and called out by most fans and the media for no reason.

Yeah I know......I'm just being irrational because I expect more because of where he was drafted and blah blah blah. That stuff is worn out.....he is what he is at this point. A guy who makes some plays now and then, has good games now and then.....but mostly a guy that needs to be replaced as our #1 WR

One only needs to watch him play to find some.....he makes himself an easy target. Just like he did vs SD. A hell of a way to shut up his critics, disappearing.

Let's hope tomorrow he's due to reappear again, Henne could use the help.
