That surprised me guessing Tebow could take over when Peyton retired i just don't see him retiring for awhile yet. If he did the Pat White thing there i bet he would complete some big plays.

I respectfully disagree with Manning unless he can fix his throwing motion i dont see him being a sucessfull QB in the NFL the corners in the NFL are going to jump his throws and he will end up having a horrible NFL career but if he can fix his longgated delievery then i could see him being one of the best in the NFL because of his arm strength and accuracy on the deep ball but untill he does fix those things he wont be a good NFL QB

It seems that maybe Peyton sees something that we don't see.

Or as one of the most likable and popular football players he's just being nice and respectful toward another popular and well-liked player. He says he'll be good but even Peyton uses his competitiveness and character as strengths, instead of his pocket presence or ability to read a defense, etc. Not to say he doesn't think Tebow will be good or that I'm saying Tebow won't, but he's probably not going say well Tebow has a terrible this and that, and just won't cut it in the NFL. I mean how often do you hear that from a player?

When somone says something bad about Tebow saying he will fail they are honest. When they say he will succeed they are just being nice. HaHa ok I am sure thats exactly what one of the greatest QB's ever to play the game was doing. He was just being nice.

So you think if Peyton really thinks Tebow is going be terrible he's going rip into him to the media, of course not. I'm not saying Peyton thinks he's bad, just saying I personally wouldn't put too much weight on his comments; I do the same with Marino's comments on Ginn. Though I understand your defending of him, I see a lot of parallels between Tebow and Tyler Hansbrough with their situations coming out of college so I had to defend my guy Tyler too. :tongue2:

I don't think Peyton would rip him because thats not who he is. I do however think he would avoid telling the media that he thinks he will succeed at QB. I mean he could have easily said time will tell or he has a shot, But know he said something completly different.

Look, Tebow is a likable guy and had one of the amazing college careers ever but I don't see his talent translating to the pros. He doesn't have a great arm, I see so many terrible passes from him, his accuracy is lacking. I don't see why anyone would take him early in the draft. Sure he's worth a risk later on in the draft but a 1st or 2nd rounder on him is nuts IMHO.

maybe he does i just see him needing a lot of work before he can be a starting and successful NFL QB he has the smarts to be one of the best

i agree with everything you said i think a 1st or 2nd would be a stupid move by a team but i could see the Jags giving a second for him just because he would put fans in the seats

It would be a good position because I do think he needs at least 2-3 years learning to be a good pro Qb, he needs to basically start over on his delivery, accuracy, etc, he needs time. The only drawback is that I don't see Indy running any Wildcat type plays, no one would take Manning out of a game for any reason, he's a Qb that can score from anywhere anytime.

Being mentored by Peyton for three to four seasons would certainly help maximize Tebow's chances at being a good pro QB one day. Peyton will probably retire in about four years. In one of his interviews before the Super Bowl with Marino he didn't seemed to enthusiastic about the idea of playing as long as Favre has. What is he 33 or 34 right now?

He also mentions that he will play as long as he feels healthy enough to be able to play. With his intelligent way of playing (e.g. taking sacks to avoid injury) he will be probably playing for a while.
