The Draft Board for the team is set: http://dolphinsindepth.blogspot.com/2008/03/things-i-know-before-todays-start-of.html
2. The Dolphins draft board is set. It was set last week. That means the Dolphins already know who they are going to draft if they cannot trade out of that No. 1 overall pick. They desperately want to trade out of that pick. By the way, don't ask me who they would pick because I've asked and the person I asked laughed at me. I find that odd, i would think with pro-days still coming things can change...
Yeah I dont think that is correct. Isn't Selguero the one who always says something so he could grab a readers attention, even if it is false?
Most teams' boards are pretty much set at this point in the process. They have watched hundreds of hours of gametape by now and the results they got from this study aren't going to change because of a workout under artificial conditions. If a receiver does show great hands during his pro day while the film showed severe ball control issues, you still believe the film. Film doesn't lie. A workout does. Basically, most workouts are being used as a measure of veryfing the results you got from watching the tape. And, of course, to get to know a player. But that doesn't usualy result in major changes of the draft board. Teams already know what they need to know. When a guy like Ryan is interviewed by the Dolphins and asked to break down a play, they do already know whether or not he's able to do it. They've seen that on the tape. What they want to do is get to know the player. But the soft skills displayed in such situations rarely have a big impact on the board. In general, the board is set by early to mid March at the latest.
