Wow, that was a horrible pick at #8.....wtf!?!?! Caved into the pressure of drafting a 1st rd QB imo. Totally not worth a #8 pick.....I'm pissed

If anyone knows if he's worthy it's Sherman he coached in nfl at high level. He coached tannehill daily. I trust him pulling the trigger.

He can throw the deep out, that is one of the hardest throws to do on a consistent basis.

while I do trust our coaches, this pick just doesn't do it for me. Way too many better players on the board to take Tannehill at #8

He has some big shoes to fill with being the first QB selected in the first round since my man Marino......I am hoping and praying he is the answer to our QB since Marino retired!!!

This actually might be the safest pick possible for Ireland. Few if anyone believe that he will start this year, so you figure it will be 2-3 years before we see him hitting stride which means Ireland is probably safe till then at least. Further, if Tannehill does suck after that time, Ireland may still be able to pin it on Sherman.

I'm really surprised that a lot of them armchair GM's have real jobs and dont work for a NFL team.

just surprised we couldn't find a trade partner for some of these desperate teams who could have had the best DE or LB in the draft. I just don't see a team needing a qb til the Titans at 20.

i have to think this is about sherman and his certainty though...which gives me a little hope.

Tannehill deserves a chance here in Miami, as for those whom say this is a stupid move and wont work go to youtube and see what everyone said when we drafted Dan Marino in the first round.

I can't believe any Dolphin fan has a problem with the front office FINALLY making QB a priority. First time a first round pick has been spent on the team's biggest need and most important position on the field. Thank you Mr. Ireland.

    Too early?
If he's the guy, then you got to go get him. I've read so many times on these boards that Dolphins fans want the world, but don't want to pay for it.

He wouldn't have been my pick....

That being said....I fully support him and hope he is the next coming of Marino. I hope he brings the same option game to the NFL that he was able to bring to the offense in college. I hope he is everything we need him to be and then some with the #8 pick.

The peril of trading back is what happened just now to the Rams. They wanted Claiborne or Barron. Whoops. Trade back again! Also wanted Cox or Floyd. Now they get dick all.

they had claiborne in their hands, and traded that pick to Dallas. They knew they wouldn't land either guy.

Tannehill is most certainly not a Parcells QB. Maybe Ireland isn't as much of a Parcells goon as we think.

Look.....Tannehill has the potential...to be a top 5 QB in this league. Potential. Look at it this way.....we had two Qbs to choose from...both had their OC as a coach on our team....Flynn and Tannehill. They passed on Flynn....because they werent sure he would be a franchise QB. They didnt pass on Tannehill or even risk trading down......Sherman and Philbin know QB's....feel good about gettin to watch your next Madden superstar

There was no one there that could potentially have the long-term impact on this team that a QB can.
