I don't think Waters or Gurode will be much of an improvement over anyone we have. Both are pretty awful themselves. At this point any offensive lineman being signed are available because they aren't very good.
well, Gurode was just signed by the Ravens so that's one less option. Sadly I don't think the FO plans on making an moves to improve our Oline. I would like to see Jean-Gilles or Leonard Davis on the roster...imo both are an instant upgrade over Jerry or maybe even Carey
Brian Waters made the Pro Bowl last year. You call that awful? If they tried to sign him and simply lost out fine but if they simply were not interested it's yet another troubling sign of bad decisions this offseason IMO. Not a stretch to see we need help on OL at this point.
Well, our divisional rival cuts their starting Safeties, adds a 34 yr offensive guard because of injuries, and this is a problem...for us? I liked Waters and thought he would have fit in nicely here, but do keep in mind fellas, the pats were 14-2 and picking up a castoff OL to start for them, we play them in a week, don't folks think that is a weakness we will attack? Dude has not practiced, does not know there system as who knows what condition he is in, and yet "dummy Dolphins"? I'm not a fan of Colombo, and think that is mistake, but Waters? Be objective for a bit, how good was Orlando Pace with the Bears?
We have a revolving door on the right side of the line, to the point where we are having John Jerry do a position change. I think I would go with the Ravens and Patriots judgement calls on personal over ours. You know, teams that have actually accomplished something in the last decade.
Gurode would walk in the door and start for us today. My opinion of Waters is "meh" but he is likely better then Vernon Carey, who looked AWFUL in preseason.
