http://espn.go.com/blog/boston/new-.../4678986/balancing-the-spread-and-physicality The Pasties have not been the team they were since they shifted to the Spread and away from the running game, the thing is, if they are trying to become more physical, they still have the same running backs.
Always with those negative waves Moriarity, always with the negative waves: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuStsFW4EmQ"]YouTube- Kelly's Heroes Oddball - Negative Waves[/ame] Pastriots got tired of being punched in the mouth, fine by me, still won't matter though as they are way behind were we and the Jests are from a physicality standpoint. Toss in Belichick drafting poorly but in quantity and they will be a team to keep an eye for a surprisingly poor season...especially if Moss goes back into his shell..which he possibly is close to doing, this change in offensive philosophy won't help..
Moss isn't nearly as intimitating without Welker in the lineup. It is amazing how much of a difference that little turd makes.
God I would love to see them try and line up against us or the jets for that matter and 'slug it out'.
Not sure I buy it, the Pats have never been a team with a strong run game... First year they won the SB they were last in the league in rushing.

And for every 1 win we got in 2007 you got 18 But for every 1 Superbowl we didn't go to that season the pats lost 1 I'm sorry for going all 23rd
Thank you for completely wasting the past two years of counseling I have gone through! I had almost convinced myself that didn't happen.
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lk-wWUQKBg"]YouTube- Tom Brady is an idiot.[/ame] Just trying to be helpful. Crazy thing is, THAT was the Belichek Patriots high water mark, since then they haven't been the boogeymen they once were.
All pro mankins does have a point, the Patsies are notoriously cheap when it comes to resigning Vets, even in their prime, Vince Wilfork last season was jerked around for months before a deal was done.
This is mixed news in the face of the Mankins situation: Wake on Kaczur was not a contest in 09, Vollmer on the other hand is a really good Tackle who filled in well for Matt Light at LT last yr and played at a high level.
I'm sure the playoff humiliation at home against the Ravens is very much on the Patriots' mind. Dominated from the first snap against a physical agressive defense and successful running attack. First home playoff loss since 1978 for crying out loud. Patriots don't lose in the playoffs at home, period. Until last year. I think Belichick is making sure that doesn't happen again, he usually works hard to not make the same mistake twice or get beaten the same way twice.
I think thats a good idea from a Pats perspective. They arent nearly as physical as they once were and that is part of what got them their titles. Theyre very pass heavy which leaves their defense on the field more as well and considering their defense is pretty average thats not a good thing. If they were smart they should be looking to reinvest in their OL to protect Brady and give them a better ground game.
When Corey Dillon was there they had a very effective run game. CD went for 1500 one year IIRC. Hopefully they'll just keep passing, makes them alot easier to beat.
They were actually 2nd in the league in time of possession (2 seconds behind Minneasota), they just do it in an unconventional way. Agree on the OL and run game, Brady is getting up there and he needs to be protected at all costs.
